I also enjoyed this movie. I had to stop it a quarter way through and turn on closed captioning. The accent is that heavy.

 

Yeah, when I saw it in theater I remember missing some lines because I couldn't make out the words, but the acting conveyed the point well enough. 

In a film class I took, the professor played foreign films with no captions because the cinematography and acting was enough to convey the story. Not that I would recommend that for this movie.

that's what i used to do when i went to operas years ago. i'd try and see if i could follow the story without reading the playbill or knowing anything about it and then i would read about it later to see if i got it right. then i started going to opera houses that had the translation up above the stage. not sure which i enjoyed more. fortunately it's been years since i've seen one.

 

at any rate, yeah captions really help with this movie.
