Jared Allen retiring

This is awesome.  Dude literally "rides off" after announcing his retirement.  Shame we didn't win him a Super Bowl Ring.

If he's really 'retiring' could he re-sign with us next year for a smaller contract, or are we inextricably bound to his old contract by the NFLPA?

He's really retiring.  Released a statement too.

So I guess my question still stands. Could he come out of retirement like Finnegan did? Does retiring nullify his contract? Just wondering. I'm not well versed on NFL contracts.

Figured this would be occurring soon. Sucks we couldn't make the most of his last shot at a ring, but it happens.

He was going to get cut with no penalty anyway so it wouldn't matter, they would just cut him.
