In what world are Cam's mechanics a 10 out of 10? No one throws from their back foot as much as Cam does because anyone else doesn't have the arm strength to keep a starting position while doing so.

Tom Brady's arm strength is an 18 out of 20?

This list definitely was set up as a ranking of how he saw quarterbacks and toggled their percentages to make it line up.

Have not looked at the article but if he is talking about solely  Cam's Newton throwing mechanics with no hitch and a quick release I understand. However, if it encompasses his throwing and footwork then I disagree

The excerpt about Cam is in the first post, he talks about his balance and it definitely incorporates footwork if this is the case.

Blocking

17/30

Carolina's Mike Tolbert is like a running back in a fullback’s body. At 5'9" and 250 pounds, he's versatile as a runner, receiver and blocker. Tolbert's blocking skills can be hit-or-miss in the run game outside the tackle box, but he's good between the tackles at rocking back linebackers. In the passing game, he is able to thrive protecting the quarterback thanks to his ability to anchor down against pass-rushers.

Power

20/20

Power is the name of the game for Tolbert. He's an exceptional short-yardage runner and picks up yards before and after contact while running mainly between the guards on tough conversions. His burst out of the backfield generates a ton of push.

Speed

16/20

Compared to other fullbacks, Tolbert's speed is solid. If compared to running backs, he comes in well below average. The upside here is that he's fast enough to pick up yards as a runner and quick enough to get to the second level as a blocker.

Hands

19/20

The Panthers passing game hasn't relied on Tolbert as much in the last two seasons, but he's still solid as a receiver. In 2015 he grabbed 18 balls on 22 targets and didn't drop a pass. With three touchdowns (tying a career high), Tolbert stands out as a receiver.

Pass Block

39/45

Michael Oher may be the most improved offensive lineman of 2015.

Oher never missed a game in his first five seasons in Baltimore after the Ravens drafted him 23rd overall in 2009, but his development seemed to halt and his overall play regressed after offensive line coach John Matsko was fired by Baltimore in January 2011. Matsko joined the Panthers staff a day later. Oher would spend the 2014 season in Tennessee and did not perform well in the 11 games he started.

He reunited with Coach Matsko when he signed with the Carolina Panthers, and the resurgence of his game is evident.

Oher has an explosive vertical set that allows him to create just enough space to get to his spot and settle his feet to build his house. He shows the strike-zone recognition and punch timing to effectively stop the charge of defenders and is able to leverage his hips to anchor.

Oher maintains an outstanding base with even weight distribution and shows good ability to recover when he is moved off his spot. He also shows the foot quickness and efficiency with his footwork to cut grass, maintaining contact with the ground to mirror and post down to take away the inside.

Run Block

35/45

Oher shows good physicality at the point of attack and displays the hip explosion, strength, power and hand placement to hit, lift and drive defenders on base blocks or when tracking to angle-drive block. The Panthers run multiple schemes in the run game, and their offensive tackles, specifically, must be able to do a lot of different things.

Oher understands the angles of the zone-blocking scheme and is able to quickly reach and seal defenders by losing ground to gain ground and also shows the footwork to cut off the backside by ripping and running or cutting the far leg of scraping.

Oher generates positive lateral movement when combo blocking and is able to overtake and slip off to climb when necessary. He shows good tracking when climbing to the second level and is able to fit and drive linebackers. Oher pushes the point of attack on "deuce block" double-teams in power schemes and is able to step down and collide the hip of B-gap defenders when down blocking.

Position Value

Top 35 Left Guards:  http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2608298-br-nfl-1000-ranking-the-top-35-left-guards-from-2015

Andrew Norwell shows up at #7:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2608298-br-nfl-1000-ranking-the-top-35-left-guards-from-2015/page/30

Pass Protection

35/45

If you like a good underdog story, look no further than Andrew Norwell. He went undrafted in 2014 out of Ohio State after having an outstanding college career. Fueled and destined to prove those who doubted him wrong, once he was inserted into the starting lineup in Week 7 of his rookie season, he never looked back.

In 2015, there was no drop-off. Norwell physically dominated, raising further questions about why many people determined during the draft process that he was physically limited with little upside.

Norwell displays a good quick- or short-set and is able to expand his set-point landmarks to work through different angles to maintain leverage on defenders. He plays with good pass-protection demeanor, allowing him to maintain even weight distribution and keep balance when needing to recover.

He also shows the foot quickness and lateral movement needed to mirror defenders in one-on-one situations. When his feet are settled, Norwell shows decent punch timing and delivers a solid strike to defenders, allowing him to latch and anchor. When setting with a little more depth, he needs to have better patience in pass protection and at times is too aggressive.

Run Blocking

42/45

Norwell's explosive get-off, along with explosive upper-body power, helps him to knock defenders off the ball right out of his stance. He plays with good overall strength and shows enough strength and power in his base to sustain and strain at the point of attack to power through defenders.

Norwell is a violent run-blocker who isn't afraid to get after it. Ultra-competitive, he doesn't quit on plays and displays a nasty streak, always looking to finish blocks and pick up blocks downfield. He also shows good footwork and is able to reach and power-drive 3-techniques and cut off low shades.

Norwell does a good job of stepping with the guy next to him hip-to-hip to get push on double-teams. Solid at squaring shoulders back up to the line of scrimmage when coming off combo blocks onto the second level, he shows good athleticism and agility when asked to pull and when he gets out in space on screens. Norwell plays with a good base that allows him to be efficient in both the run and pass game.

Positional Value

7/7

Overall

84/97
