Hornets interested in Dwight!!!

Cho should tell Morey he'll offer Big Al, Zeller, and the 2016 first for Dwight. Take it or leave it.

I include Zeller instead of Marvin because Marvin is a better fit as a stretch 4 with Dwight, and Zeller's best position is C. If you're trading for Howard, you're doing so with the intent of re-signing him, which means you'd have a logjam at the 5 with Dwight, Zeller, Frank, and Hawes (who are all better at the 5 than the 4).

The 2016 first I don't mind giving up because if the Hornets get Dwight, they're easily a top 4 team in the East, and that pick will be in the 20s. Plus, this year's draft class is pretty weak to be honest, especially after the top 3 or so picks.

I don't think we should give up a pick and a young guy, just one. Howard is basically a rental, I doubt he would re-sign here.

It might not happen, but the Lee trade fills two things. 3 and D, plus good friends with Howard.

I'm a make a prediction. No first rd pick but MKG and Jefferson for Howard. Other possibility would be Jefferson, Williams, 1st round pick.

60-40 that it happens and it will be last minute.

I would probably cry if we traded MKG for 30 games of Dwight Howard.

Think it's likely he would re-sign with CLT if he were traded here. He's close with Clifford (ORL and LAL days) and Ewing (ORL), as well as Lee who just joined the team. Plus, CLT would be able to offer that extra year.

With regards to younger guy, at the end of the day, I don't think there's room for both Zeller and Frank in CLT, at least not with both starting. And given CLT passed up 4 1sts for Frank, I don't think he's the one that's going to move. Zeller is expendable IMO.

God you people are seriously out of your minds. Wanting to trade any good players we have and future 1sts for a half year rental of a guy who probably will be hurt and definitely won't play to his full potential. This has to be the dumbest thing I have ever heard and why this team will never win poo

i think it's the only move we have outside of a rebuild. right now we aren't getting good enough draft picks for a star and we are still going to have trouble building a team with a star through FA. Clifford is good but idk if he can craft together a Spurs or last year's Hawks team. this move is a gamble but maybe a good one. we have Batum for this year and if we get Howard for this year. we try to make a run at the playoffs and maybe pull off a nice run. that's the incentive for those guys to stay and for maybe another solid/star player to be interested in us in FA. otherwise, Batum walks and if Howard comes he walks too because we aren't going anywhere. We're back to nothing. we gotta go in now to try and show there is a future in the next few years to be competing at a top 4 playoff spot.

Yeah but chances are MKG is going to miss 75% of every season anyway for too much money.

1. I don't believe that

2. Even if so I'd rather have MKG than 30 games of Dwight Howard

Even if he does stay I'm really not thrilled at the idea of paying $30 million per for a mid 30s version of an athletic center. When he declines he's going to fall off a cliff, you can already see the signs.

Well, at least it took five pages to get to the "EVERYTHING IS AWFUL!" post.

Progress!

Dwight, regardless of his age would be THE best Player this team has ever had.

charlotte got the player history back from new orleans so you would be saying that 30 year old Dwight is better than LJ, Mourning, Wallace, Gill, Vlade, Rice etc

I don't think people really understand the NBA and this team.  We're not that great.  We're fighting for a playoff spot in the EAST.  We may be the worst drafting team ever, I mean, it's been terrible.   People actually think a mid-rounder is going to net us anything?  We'll just skip out on a Brooks Lopez guy again for someone that sucks.    The NBA is sadly, hard to be successful with unless you're a large market or you can get lucky in the draft (or you're the Spurs lol).   Howard is older, gets hurt, but would be the best player we've had.

I like MKG too, I think he has a ton of talent, but he's going to just keep getting hurt.

It's risk trading for Howard, but I think the guy will be better in a smaller market with less eyes on him.  His best years were in Orlando.

East is tougher than the West this year, but I digress...

Ted Ginn, Mike Mitchell, Kurt Coleman, McBob, Marvin, etc. Charlotte tends to be a great spot to resurrect careers.
