Cam Newton was the best offensive player in Super Bowl 50

Honestly I did think Cam had a good game in the flow of things. He didn't have anything to work with and still moved the ball quite a bit. He did fumble twice but we had other turnovers that cost us as well from the running backs and a tipped ball by Ginn that was picked in the redzone. Overall I thought Cam could have played better but still played well. It felt like he wore down running the ball. I kept expecting him to make something happen in the 4th quarter and he looked done as a runner.

I don't understand some of the Panther fans criticism of Cam.  I agree with this analysis.  If there was any justice to the way fumbles are credited they would belong to Remmer instead of Newton.  The interception was maybe thrown a little too hard, but I think Ginn should have caught it.  Cam had some overthrows early, but those are way overshadowed by the drops.  Cam ran well, but no player can be expected to be the only productive member of the offense.  When a running back gets a big run he gets to take a breather on the sideline.  When Cam gets one, he has to line up and take the next snap.  That adds up, and I was thinking the same thing at the end of the game.  He'd already done so much that he didn't have a whole lot left to give.

I get that the press conference was maybe a little immature, but he'd just lost the biggest game of his career up to that point after hearing for two weeks how big a blowout he was going to get.  I don't think most people would be really cheery answering the media's dumb questions.  If he had just been surly and not walked off it's a complete non-story, and if walking off a presser after a Super Bowl loss is the worst thing he does in his NFL career, then I'd say he's a pretty good guy.

So anything other than "Cam sucks" is an excuse, got it. LOL

I actually think Cam should be flattered by the Broncos defense thinking they "shut him down". If they consider 265 passing and 49 rushing a "shut down" that tells you how much they respect and fear what Cam can do.

Well they did hold him out of the end zone which is damn hard, though it;s obviously not on Cam.
