Whats this love affair with Weddle? he's old, slow and constantly injured. He's basically Harper 2.0

Go watch a SD game, he was getting toasted left and right

one of the most alarming stats regarding Weddles performance this past reason is that he had zero interceptions or forced fumbles and to make make matters worse he also had no solo sacks

paying top dollar for Weddle services...no thanks

Eric Weddle S - if he wants to come at a fair price he's a must take, instantly makes the back end of the secondary much better. Groin issue last year caused a down year, but hadn't missed a game since 2009 and is a three time all pro, as recently as 2014.

Mario Williams DE  - Wants to prove he still has it and wants an aggressive attacking defense to do it in.  Pefect fit, not sure what the cost will be and if he wants too much money then we'll be out.

Derrick Shelby DE - Maybe a cheaper option? Not sure what the market will be, but he would add some good pass rushing depth with potential to even be a starter.

Brandin Boykin CB - Solid slot corner when he plays. Didn't get a ton of playing time this year though, may be able to bring him in cheaper than the other options.

Chris Ivory RB - Splitting carries between him and Stewart could both keep them fresh and wear out opposing defenses.  2-3 year deal max though as he is getting up there in age.

Marvin Jones WR - He'll probably cost too much but he'd add explosiveness to a passing game that depends on Ginn for those big plays.

Is Weddle healthy?

Is Williams motivated?

Can Vernon work here?

What do the numbers look like?

Wouldn't mind picking up a DE, even if rotational, a S, and a RT if Williams isn't what we thought he would be.  Possibly a RB if Tolbert is let go, and a cheap corner.

People want Hardy because for his production he will be relatively cheap.  Plus our locker room has already shown to be able to handle him and I think he would relish a second chance here.   The media already hates us so why not.  Dallas already took the hit for us playing him last year, I don't think it would be made into that much of a big deal.  But doubt JR would go for it, I hope DG would consider it he seems to have an open mind, but he always talks about guys with character which Hardy is not.
