To clear this up, did Cam actually steal a lap top, or did he purchase one that he knew had been stolen? There's a big difference there for me. Hell either way I blame his parents and Urban Meyer for not making sure he had the proper equipment to complete his studies. Hell at least he was trying to get some work done. Do we know if he had an upcoming essay to write and had to get a laptop on the fly?

Thats a great perspective on it that honestly never thought about, if you are trying to get your hands on a laptop in college then one would think its more to do with school purposes rather than entertainment. It wasnt like he stole a game system or something they wouldnt contribute to his studies.

Hey NFL: I bet you are now rethinking the refs in Superbowl 50. Probably should have called that Cotchery catch a catch. The Golden Child will fall hard all because of his stupid sexism and your ridiculous desire to please Archie Manning. Maybe you should file a lawsuit against the Mannings for constantly making you do things that you know are wrong.

I like Cam as much as the next person but he needs some accountability for his actions. Don't put blame on the parents and Meyer for Cam not having a computer. It is 100% on the player. He is not above the law because he plays football. Several students work hard to buy one. It is this type of mentality that harbors your Johnny Manziels.

As for the back story to the laptop from the laptop owner:

GAINESVILLE | Paul Loschak harbors no ill will toward Heisman Trophy favorite Cam Newton, despite allegations that Newton stole Loschak's laptop in 2008.

Loschak just wishes Newton hadn't thrown the laptop out of a University of Florida residence hall window.

"I could have had my laptop back fully working. Instead I got a broken, cracked laptop ... with ‘Cam Newton' written on top," he said.

Loschak was a UF senior when Newton, a sophomore backup quarterback for the Gators at the time, allegedly stole his laptop and tossed it from a window to avoid arrest. Loschak had painted a forest scene on the laptop cover to distinguish it from others. The retrieved laptop had been painted black with Newton's name written in white paint.

That is all in the past tho. Cam is perfect example of what you can do to turn around your life around which makes me respect him more because he went through that and overcame it. Too many people today can not take accountability for their mistakes and own up to it and say yes I made this mistake, I own up to it and I will make it right. Instead they make excuses: Did I steal the laptop? Its my parents/coach fault that I didn't have laptop. I had a paper to write so I had to steal a laptop.

White privilege. They would've had breaking news and covered this for the whole offseason had it been Cameron Newton. The same way they cover the laptop, pay for play, and his attitude towards the media.

ESPN literally set up shop on the campus of FSU when the Winston story broke. To this day they have yet to report the numerous holes in her story.

ESPN literally made up the Winston "pay for play" story. To this day, there has been no apology despite the fact that they used as their main source as guy that owns the online site and who is also under federal investigation.

The funny thing is that when Johnny Manizel was ACTUALLY caught, ESPN spent a week defending Johnny by saying how much money he brings to college football and having segments where they go visit the NCAA/TAMU merchandise website to see all the Manizel stuff that was on sale. Funny how when someone like Winston, Gurley, AJ Greene, Dez Bryant, Terrelle Pryor, etc. is accused of impermissible benefits ESPN doesn't care about how much the NCAA is making of their labor. Nope only Johnny Manizel gets that benefit.

ESPN "cared" so much about the rape culture at FSU that they literally made an open records request for every male football and basketball (only) player for the last 20 years. ESPN literally when through 500+ reports and found nothing.

ESPN has been, is, and will continue to be a joke of an media outlet.

It's not Peyton's fault that his balls and dick rubbed across that ladies face!!  He was just trying to moon that one guy!!   That one guy that says that Peyton did not moon him.

When your coach makes millions of dollars off of your hard work and so does the university, it's most certainly a failure on your entire program that he doesn't have a damn laptop. No that doesn't mean he should go take one. But how in the hell does the NCAA and all these schools and their coaches make so much money off these players and somebody like Cam Newton doesn't have a damn laptop. I understand that a lot of people have to buy their own. Hell I bought my own, but I'm a older student. A scholarship athlete coming out of high school shouldn't have to steal a damn laptop.
