That being said, if you think it's in poor taste to bring up something stupid that somebody did when they were young and dumb in college when it's your guy Newton but then do the same thing to somebody else and want to cause outrage you are just doing it out of spite. If you think something is wrong don't do it in reverse just to try to equal things out.

I don't think sexual assault is equal to stealing a laptop. It's much, much worse.

I'm not a Payton Manning fan like many others are but at the same time I don't have anything against him. He's just a football player to me.

This didn't just stop in college, though. He continued to perpetuate this story and besmirch her in his book, which was released five years after he was drafted.

Kind of sad that people here are butt hurt enough to post ancient articles dragging Manning through the mud. Its the same thing fans of other teams do to Cam. Aren't we better than that?

Truthfully, it will never be made into a thing and he is as muddy as he will ever get over this or the HGH deal.

My biggest issue is the massive onslaught against Cam for not losing properly(only thing he did was blow off the media), the dancing, etc..., when sports darlings have much heavier skeletons in their past!

Maybe Cam takes a page from Marshawn's book for Super Bowl 51

I would like to elaborate on this issue a little more.

The problem is on both sides. People of every race, creed, sex, etc., need to do a bit of self questioning in regards to perception and expectation.

Fortunately, being in a position to play societal lawyer for Cam on the lowest of levels has been an eye opening experience

Agreed. I like Jon Stewart's rule of journalism: consistency. Whether you like Stewart or not, he is right about the inconsistent standards many hold public figures to. If we criticize Cam for being upset during a press conference, but Manning has done something similar, then we should use it as precident. This is why people think the media is racist, or fox news is terrible, or msnbc sucks... we need consistency in our reporting and criticism or else you come across as an ignorant or racist a-hole.

The writer of the article is trending on Twitter, but not Peyton Manning.

What in the actual fug?!

Sad world we live in today.

Exactly. People are saying this is an old topic and why are they bringing it up. But I don't recall Peyton Manning ever having to address this at all one way or the other.

If you need another reason to disregard the media's critique of Newton, just take a lool at their treatment of Newton and Brady compared to Peyton and Aqib Talib. No evidence against Brady, Newton was crucified for being upset after the biggest game of his career. Peyton rapes a girl and takes HGH, and Talib INTENTIONALLY tries to rip Philly's head off. What were the two biggest stories? Newton and Deflategate.... and that is why the media is a hoax

Rubbing your junk on someone's face is not good, but it sure ain't rape.

Bill Cosby is a serial rapist accused of raping like 50 women and taking advantage of his celebrity to keep them buried for so long. Peyton Manning rubbed his dick on someone's face when he was a college sophomore. Not the same thing.

Did the woman ask for it? No? Then it's the same damn thing. It affected her so much she reported it as sexual assault immediately. She also lost her job years later when he spoke on it after breaching confidentiality agreement. Peyton and his team actually begged her to blame it on a black player. Every single person interviewed who were involved have said Peyton was lying, except Peyton.

The dismissal is disgusting. I hope you don't have a daughter, and if you do, you better pray someone doesn't put their dick on her head as a "prank" so you don't have to tell her that the trauma she feels is wrong.

I love how this is going to get sweet under the carpet for like the 50th time. Anyone who defends Peyton on this is just as big of piece of poo than Archie. Yea Peyton was a dumb kid but he deserved to be punished for it. Instead he got the doctors career ruined and Archie and the lawyers asked her to blame a black athlete instead of Peyton. The whole cover up and smear campaign by saying she slept with black guys is so much more disgusting than Peyton actually tea bagging her. If Peyton would've been punished for it, then yea it's a non story and yea he would've been a dumb college kid doing dumb college kid poo. But like I stated the details about this is just so disgusting. It's a shame that today's world still pretty much reflect Tennessee in the 1990s
