A little change of pace...

Ok, now I know the Panthers sucked donkey nutz last week in the opener...

The hate is flowing free and rapidly at an consistent 99% "hate rate" towards Jake.

The Defense was better than expected I guess, but, still have room for improvement.

BUT... think for a moment (I know it's hard but try)

"What if" the Panthers come out Sunday in ATL and show up... the Run game happens well, Jake is on, the Defense gets a couple Rips or an INT... and the Panther WIN.

What will you then think?

I mean, we all know there are things that need to be addressed, but, now it's gonna have to wait until next season sadly.

We have what we have. "What if" next week we see the team we expected to see with 20 of 22 returning starters and a new Defense, rejuvenated?

Just asking, to see if there are ANY positive thinkers out there at all.

My concern is how do we scheme against a strong pass rushing attack, like the Cowboys, maybe the Redskins DLine (depending if they are consistent), the Pats and Giants down the road... If our Oline is inconsistent throughout the season, I'm guessing it'll have to do with those type of defenses and the staff running them...

Jake will probably rebound and play good in the majority of the games this year. But I can guarantee you he will probably at least lose us 3 more games and up to 5 more by himself (reasonably). If you can live with that then so be it but personally I think Matt even with his lack of experience will not lose you that many. Its sad that that is all we expect of the QB now is to not lose games but it has come to that.

I also think Matt would give this team the shot in the arm it needs. And who knows it could be just what Jake needs to get back on track.

The good thing is we have a talented group. If we didn't I'd be really worried. I think the team as a whole does well Sunday. I think it's the same team we had last year a 12-4 season. They'll get even better as the season goes on. If Jake is gonna fvck up or the line or lines it's better they learn in their first game. I'll go down in flames as an optimist if not.

The Falcons will get upset this Sunday. Vegas will love it. The Cardiac Cat's will rise again.

HOME OF THE NFC SOUTH CHAMPIONS

We saw the drop off when we had a David Carr or Testaverde. Jake is a little better than having those guys and that's not as easy to come by as we think. There aren't thirty Tom Bradys out there. I can remember when we didn't have Delhomme and kind of wish he was there. Next season we went 12-4.

Nice "Foxism" you slipped in there. :D

I, for one, expect a different Panther team Sunday. A pissed off team on a mission.

If we rebound and play well this week it will underline how hysterical many folks have been. If we suck the din will grow much louder. In any even it won't stop the haters. They will simply keep predicting gloom and doom until the next poor game we have and they will be in full force for another week.

I expect this is going to be a long season no matter what.

As for Moore the reason he won't be the starter is that he doesn't make all the reads and call the audibles. Sure he went 2-1 with a very pared down simplistic gameplan. But he hasn't shown he can run the full offense or he would be the second string already. If they had faith at all that he could run the offense they would have surely not put McCown on IR and brought in Feeley. Whether you like it not, Moore won't start unless Jake gets hurt and Feeley can't play or stinks it up himself. Otherwise he is our third stringer and will likely get replaced next year.

Last year we all knew that Dwills biggest weakness was his pass protection. He did pretty good last year (not so much against the eagles). If that's his biggest weakness put him in with the ones and devote as much time as you need to get him ready.

You know Jake kinda reminds me of an old car. One thats a POS but you keep working on it and working on it. Before long you have a ton of time and money invested in a car that in the end leaves you stranded. Well he's left me stranded far to many times. Its time for us to finally put the tag on the new model and take him out for a test spin.

Okay someone help me out here... outside of the Eagles and Arizona games obviously, I have to go back to 2006 with the monday night eagles game and the bengals game to remember a game Jake has lost for us. And before that, he was more consistent and won many close games for us. He even did it a few times last year. I just have a hard time believing there will be 3 to 5 more losses this season that can be put on Jake.
