What do you guys think of Tre Boston being a full-time starter in 2016?

Ridiculous to think that a 4th round pick in his 3rd year isn't gonna be able to handle starting in the secondary of a team with a dominant front 7. If McClain and Finnegan can look serviceable in our secondary, Boston can too.

It's not so ridiculous.

Every single player you draft is not going to turn into an all-pro. Teams need depth too.

I actually like Boston a lot. I'm not absolutely convinced he's consistent enough to be a full-time starter, but that doesn't mean I'd cut him. He has at the very least shown that he can be a contributor.

He's not good enough. Need to sign or draft someone.

What you are crazy, Boston is good and he will be the starting Safety, ppl act like he should be a All Pro coming out of college. Yes he made mistakes but thats what happens when your a young player who will learn from experience and grow. If your a Panther fan you would do know that Ron and Gettleman likes to DEVELOP players.

Players only get better with experience, aka Cam, Brown, Ealy,Norman, etc

I'm on the Eric Weddle train myself. I just think that he would be a perfect fit for our defense, and I think he could be that last piece to complete our monster defense. Harper has a liability all year long. Weddle would turn that weakness into a strength.

I suspect that the amount of playing time Boston gets is in direct relationship to his understanding of where to be on every play.  Some guys know it intellectually and don't have the physical skills. Still others have all the physical gifts and not the ability to see what it is developing and make a play on the ball because they could anticipate what was going to happen rather than always be aggressive and get burned by double moves and poor discipline. Boston has great potential but needs the consistency to show he can be where he has to be in this high accountability defense.

I think he's going to be the biggest returning player surprise in 2016. I think he'll play at that Kurt Coleman near-Pro Bowl level. He has great read-and-react instincts. I just like this guy in general, he's great on social media and has a knack for always finding the camera in BoA Stadium.

I wouldn't mind him at SS. They just need to sign a veteran just in case to push him. Not sure if he's the FS or SS of the future. I did like him in the Arizona game.

All about camp competition. I like that Coleman came in this year in beat him out in camp. He had to sit and get lots of mental reps. Maybe he comes into camp this year and lights it up. He has the physical tools just mentally he was out of position a lot. Hopefully this season allowed him to grow in that area.

He had 30 yards of penalties in less than five minutes (end of 3Q beginning of 4Q) That would have been the game's worst if Talib wasn't bailing him out by being a bigger psycho. looked to me like Rivera finally told him to go sit behind the bench.

He tied Ted Ginn and Mike Tolbert for tackles in the game (1).

I say we keep shopping - big stops mean little when you are giving the other team huge chunks of yards at critical times.

It's ridiculous to think that we would be better off getting Harper 2.0 than see what we have in Boston. Even if he doesn't fare well, we know that he can contribute as depth like you said.

Those are the kind of judgments that Gettleman and Rivera have to make on an annual basis. And if they do happen to get it wrong, there's no reset button.

When I was younger, I used to think being GM of an NFL team would be a cool job to have.

Nowadays, I'm glad I'm not the one whose butt is on the line when it comes to these decisions.
