suspend him and players like him wont consider the 15 yard mark the start of "free pass" territory. I don't know why that's hard to comprehend.

So it's only a suspension if it's inside the 10? Or only if they admit it? Or should all facemasks be suspensions?

I'd really rather they didn't suspend Talib. It was bad and he admitted it was intentional and I get that but I really don't want the NFL to start going down the road where basically every personal foul is a suspension. Burfict getting 3 games was extreme. He should have gotten 1, maybe 2. Now they're considering a suspension for a facemask? Can't wait for roughing the passer to be an automatic ejection and 1 game suspension.

It's not going to make anyone feel any better or help us in any way.

Had he snapped Corey's neck and possibly paralyzed him for life or killed him, would it make you reevaluate your position?

The reason I'm pissed over this, is that it basically tells these guys that "Hey, it's ok to act like you're trying to finish someone's career and/or life," since they will only penalize you a yard and a half and slap on what amounts to a five dollar fine for these guys.

Sorry.. but he should have been ejected immediately, along with suspension for at least 2 games. With his admitting he did it on purpose, and lack of remorse or guilt, I would push for more myself. But, I'm not that joke in charge of the NFL either.

How is what Talib did any different than Burfict.

Both made no sort of football play and instead deliberately tried to injure another player.

It just so happened that Philly got up after the play and Antonio Brown didnt.

You just answered your own question. The difference is one would be a PR disaster for the NFL and the other one everyone except panther fans have already forgotten about it. It's all about their image, not safety.

Blatent penalties that could lead to player injury should definitely earn a suspension if the player penalized later out right says that he was trying to injure his opponent, yes. Now, you're going to come back with something dumb like "well then no one will never admit to it and then how do we suspend people", and I'll go ahead and answer the question. I don't care. We've met my stated criteria here, in this situation, and he should be suspended for said actions.

Now go sperg along somewhere else.

Philly himself said Talib shouldn't be suspended.

no suspension even after his comments.  Wow.  I think the league is setting an example that it's ok to be wreckless.

I hope they put in the rule for ejection, but not the way he currently proposes it.  Make it where the player has to sit out the rest of the current drive and the opposing team is rewarded significantly.... such as 15 additional yards, if within 15 yards to endzone, auto first down, ball at the 1, and ball placed at 15 on the following kickoff if opposing team scores.

We could adopt Hockey's 5 minute misconduct penalty. If you think football is fun to watch now, imagine a guy dressed in a greenman costume throwing popcorn at Talib while he is in the penalty box.
