Great news! MKG has a torn labrum, AGAIN! The same exact injury he had earlier this year! Seriously, this guy can't stay healthy.

Kidd-Gilchrist's MRI revealed a torn labrum in his right shoulder.

Kidd-Gilchrist injured his shoulder in Wednesday night's game against the Pacers. Though team officials say he will be re-evaluated after the All-Star break, the severity of the injury likely means that Kidd-Gilchrist will be out indefinitely.

This is why I wasn't really excited for this extension.  He's the glass man.  I don't think he'll ever be able to stay healthy.

And if they let him go with their luck you just know he will never get injured and turn into a three point marksman and perennial DPOY.

Charlotte sports gonna Charlotte.

This can be corrected with proper healing and rehab.  Remember when they said Steph Curry had "glass ankles"?

Even if the shoulder doesn't become a recurring thing MKG getting hurt someway will be. The guy plays too hard for his own good. The thing that makes him special is ultimately what will derail his career. It is really sad because the guy has the talent, work ethic and in game drive to be a superstar but I don't see him ever staying healthy enough to put it all together.

He's just like Gerald Wallace, honestly, with the way he plays.  So much potential but injuries just curbed them.

It's hard to be a basketball fan unless your team has drafted a superstar or have Popavich as your coach.   If you're in the middle of the pack like us, it's almost never going to happen.   Tanking is almost the only way for a smaller market team like the Hornets to get a superstar and that's not even guaranteeing you a first round pick.   It's hard not to get demoralized.

The way the NBA is set up right now, particularly with the draft "lottery" is why there are so many teams tanking every year. Doesn't look like it's going to be changing anytime soon either unfortunately. In the next 10 years, the league is going to have to make big changes, or it's going to be struggling big time.

I'm not denying the fact that MKG is one of those injury prone guys, but both of the spills he took were very awkward, and rarely you see players take a spill like that. Bad luck and/or rushing him back played a HUGE factor in this.

    • Lol.  Now you make me defend DG. We had the best IOL in the league under DG and Oher looked solid until he got that bad concussion. DG drafted Moton and Daryl Williams as well. The OL fell apart under Hurney 2.0 and Fitterer. DG also drafted Star and Short. Sorry, but that was all in 5 drafts so let’s not make stuff up about not trying to improve hog mollies. Gettleman did a ton wrong and took the wrong guys, but he and Rivera had a deep and talented team and it got blown up really quickly. Also, I love Cam but he wasn’t the best QB in the league. He had the best year in 2015 but he wasn’t Brady. I think Dan has had a solid offseason, way better than last year but I’m not putting on rose colored glasses until we actually have a 10 win season. Again, Dave and Ron had 3 10+ wins seasons out of 5.
    • Yeah I wont often comment on a coddled generation and participation trophies but this sort of begs for it. Also how did an athlete achieve at that level without getting a thicker skin?
    • Right, basically what I said. Dude is crowning Dan after a 5-12 season and 1 draft, which as of right now, wasn’t good. I wasn’t judging Morgan at all. People read what they want to read like that I loved Gettleman and think he was awesome. Nope. All I said is that it’s way too freaking early to act like Morgan is amazing. I used the Gettleman/Rivera record just like I mentioned that Rhule almost beat both #1 seeds in this first year. Morgan/Canales’ team would need to win 11 a year to get to a similar record as Gettleman/Rivera’s first 5. If you are going to given Morgan a pass for bad talent, we were 15-33 the 3 years prior to Gettleman/Rivera. Again, I think all of us want this team to win again but maybe I’m a little jaded in thinking that I enjoyed 2013-2017 a helluva a lot more than 2018-2024 and I’m not a fan of smoke getting blown up my ass like we have already back.
