Bill Voth: "Panthers Are Allowing Cam To Look Like A Baby."

One more thing I wanted to add.

I can't say I followed Bill from the beginning (or at all via social media) but I didn't get the impression he provided a lot of negative content. To see him making such sharp comments after the loss and subsequent interview makes me question why he waited until now to put this out publicly. Even if it's a radio bit, I would believe someone that covers the team would try to be objective and not allow personal grudges to influence their opinion because credibility is such a fragile thing in a line of work that demands it. Heck, I could come up with something more palatable:

Quote

The Panthers are willing to take a chance with Cam's behavior. At this stage of the game, it's less likely that Cam will ever deviate from allowing his emotions to govern his actions, whether for the good or what we saw in the post-game conference. There has been speculation that heckling from Chris Harris was the reason for Cam's early departure but even if we had confirmation, I doubt that would stem the intense criticism he's receiving from multiple angles. At the moment, his teammates and coaching staff appear steadfast in defending him and who can blame them? He had been the engine for this offense and was a chief contributor for this Super Bowl run. If he continues to produce victories, then I don't see anyone within the organization changing their tune. Their acceptance may be tested, however, if opposing teams take Denver's blueprint and blunt Cam's effectiveness overall next season and beyond. Even someone like Cam may have no choice to conform if not doing so means losing the respect of those that actually matter.

Ten minutes of work with really bad memory.

I don't blame Cam. If I was him I'd also eliminate any interviews with Deion and Michael Irvin as well.

If you want to trash me, don't expect me to talk to you and help you out when you need an interview.

Damn Irvin trashed Cam too?

I stopped listening to voth when in training camp he would tweet "big news coming later today" and then it would end up being irrelevant.

And voth if if you're reading this, and I know that you know this site....

fug you dude, trying to make a name for yourself right now off of some bullshit. You already lost your journalistic integrity with me months ago, but now you lost your integrity as a man today. Go fug yourself.

it's also not a good idea to piss off the guys you need to talk to so that you can pay your bills.

the way voth is going he's not just going to be public enemy #1 in the base you get most of your clicks from, but to the team you hitched your wagon to.

i mean it's just not a good look.

and yes, i'm going to keep driving that into the ground.

maybe i'm stupid or missing something here but it seems like all the calls for cam to "man up" or "act more mature" basically equate to "look good to the media".

the front office, coaching staff, his teammates, and the fans are sure as hell still behind him so i'm sort of lost as to what functional purpose reciting "mature" canned responses in a suit at a postgame presser accomplishes other than that.

I'm officially over all of the attention Cam is getting. I love Cam, but this is a team sport and all of the smearing he's getting does nothing for me. Not his fault but I'm over it.

Every bit of this!!

I like Bill and respect the hell out of what he has done with BBR. I think he really provides a solid alternative media source. I don't agree with him on this, but I understand why seems to be upset over it. He is an independent, like me, who didn't have a company budget to send him out there. We paid our own way. Interviews after the game are very important to him. I would feel the same way if I paid to go out there and then was told I could not take pictures.

Hahaha. Sorry, Jeremy. Don't tell me that your expenses (or Bill's) won't be coming off your taxes or won't in any way provide anything positive for you guys. Nothing is owed to you or Bill or any media. It is earned through your work & relationships & professionalism. I lost respect for Voth today when he lost his professionalism with his rant.

@Jangler If you ever talked to any of my children that way, I'd punch you in the mouth, straight up. The words you choose to use are scary for a 40+ year old man. They're grade school level. You can be better.

I think after a loss like this, everyone's negative traits are amplified...kind of like what happens when a family member dies. I think we all need to give each other a lot of leniency, especially when people act a little out of character. After the loss, Cam was at his very basic, Voth got frustrated and acted out of character, even Jangler is breaking kayfabe. I know when a family member dies, the surviving family members have a tendency to bicker and turn on each other. I think that's what is happening in our community. But yeah, Voth shouldn't poo where he eats.

Well Voth can "man up" when we don't give him our clicks.

To have any large impact on his traffic his "appearance" and toxic opinions of Cam must be spread to the masses.

He'll still get some traffic, but people who support this team and Cam could make a statement if done in the correct manner.

I check him out from time to time but after his last site redesign, that's few and far between.  I think it's horrible.

As to Cam, I get really annoyed when people compare Luke or TD or Olsen's reaction to that of Cam.  For better or worse there is a far greater amount of pressure and attention on the Quarterback than any other position.

After the Broncos game where Von Miller tore it up and won MVP what Bronco was being talked about and swarmed the most.  Wasn't Von.  It was the Payton Manning, the quarterback who incidentally had a worse outing then Trent Dilfer did in the Superbowl.

You can't compare how Quarterbacks act to any other position in football.  It's simply not the same.

Et tu, Bill?  You have now been cast out of Huddle heaven into Huddle hell where there is much weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Your sin? Failure to handle Cam with kid gloves.

Oh geez, not this again.

This isn't about kid gloves. Questioning someone as a man goes beyond being about sports. It becomes personal.
