#4.  In my opinion, all of Dameshek's past transgressions toward the Panthers (aka the uniform nonsense) are washed away.  Dameshek makes the strongest defense Cam has had in the public media and speaks what a lot of us have been saying, but with a bigger audience.  Outstanding.

I saw that this morning.  I was kind of shocked he would take the high road there.  I mean, Cam's whole meltdown was such an easy story to write...

Its interesting to see other media types basically call the system out to a degree.  Like a head on a hydra eating another.

And Tom Brady said the exact same thing about being a sore loser

http://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/02/tom-brady-cam-newton-super-bowl-admits-sore-loser?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&dlvrit=206567

This quote is from the segment, which was entitled “Tom Brady: The Winner.” Brady was asked about how competitive he is with everything, even with silly things like backgammon:

“I’m a pretty good winner. I’m a terrible loser. And I rub it in pretty good when I win. But as soon as I lose, those backgammon sets, I broke more backgammon sets. I’ve dropped elbows on ’em. I don’t know. It’s like I wish I had a punching bag nearby sometimes.”

Context is obviously the key difference here. They both acted the same way, but Cam did it on the biggest stage when everybody was watching him, and immediately after the most substantial loss of his career. Brady recalled his story fondly in a light-hearted television profile. But in some ways that actually makes it more excusable on Cam Newton’s part. After all, he’s 26 and HE HAD JUST LOST THE SUPER BOWL. As Brady shows, being an NFL quarterback requires a ultra-competitive mindset, so don’t hold Newton to a double standard.

Oh and by the way: Tom Brady has walked out of a press conference, too.

Ya know, the more I've thought about this, the more it's frustrated me for multiple reasons.  First, why the hell is this what we or ANYONE is talking about, the whole situation is ridiculous.  I was then, and still am far more concerned with things that actually happened in the game

That said, IF this is the issue we're going to approach, what good would have come from him staying to answer questions?  Was him walking away less professional than Jim Mora going off about "playoffs"?  What about Dennis Green and his "crown their ass" situation?  What about Herm Edwards and his "We play to win the game"?  All of those guys are MUCH older and "more mature" than he is.  Maybe, JUST MAYBE, the most mature thing that happened in the whole situation was actually the thing he's being hammered on.  You always hear it when you're angry "just walk away"...well that's what Cam did, and he's getting crucified.

Why are we still trying to defend Cam? Whats with the comparisons? Did anyone listen to what he said? Cam didnt do anything wrong...and if everyone here believes that...why are we still talking about it? Of course the media that we poo on 98% of the time on their coverage of us is going to make it an issue....but damn yo...this many days later WE are still sore and feel we need to defend him?

I'll be glad to see these pages filled with posts of combine prospects~

Issue is media tries to take a sound byte and spin it as black and white.

Newton didn't mean that people who put on a fake faces for the media are losers.  Cam is just saying he doesn't need to put but on the fake face for media.   He doesn't like to lose.  Being a phony at a presser simply isn't what he does.  He eats, breathes and bleeds football.  Not everyone in the NFL does....some are check caishers that would simply like to win and not lose.  Losing isn't devastating to them.

Good sportsmanship also isn't doing everything the media wants of a player.  They have taken it to extremes....and really there needs to be more Lynches and Newtons that try to hold the media accountable.  Lynch didn't talk because he got sick of what current media is about.  People should be sick of it.  Not one major outlet has shown Cam addressing Peyton and no one really cares when guys like Peyton haven't done the same.   Peyton will play the media "game" though.

I've talked to Dave through PMs on Twitter (I made a smart ass comment about the Uniform thing and he messaged me) anyway the Uniform thing he felt was BS because we botted it "allegedly" and if felt it took the integrity of his contest.

That being said once get got over the smart ass comment he talked about how he really respected Carolina and thought they were on the rise. And how he loved Cam.... this conversation happened last July.
