Tin foil hat time (Im starting to Believe it though)

I don't think it's possible that players and coaches are in on it. It's too big for that. You've got 1,000's of players and over time one of them would spill the beans even if there is some sort of nondisclosure agreement.

I suppose it's possible, though unlikely, that there is some fix that the owners, refs, and corporate office are in on. They might try to steer games in the right direction and just get surprised here and there.

I doubt it, but it's fun to think about.

You can't make a bad team win the Super Bowl that's why Dallas has sucked, you cant magically take a bad team and put them in the Super Bowl and they win that Super Bowl, if there is fixing, it isn't even close to that extent

Like in 2013 where if we lost the NFL would have a nice San Fran - Seattle rivalry match-up in the NFC CG .. or this year in Peytons last game, was there slight edges to the Niners and Broncos ? Absolutely. If that's what you want to call a fix.

All the Refs had to do was overturn one catch, and look what it turned into for the Broncos, that call is the "fix" - Denver capitalized on the swing they got in their favor, the getting a TD part right after it wasn't fixed though it was due to the "fix" or "bad call"

Fixing a game and point shaving are entirely different to me. Fix is having so many involved it's impossible.

Point shaving can have one or two players or refs or a combo. It's subtle but influential.

When someone started a thread BEFORE the SB about the nfl wanting Payton that was an out clause on the Panthers losing.

We. Got.  Beat. The trophy ain't here. Time to man up and move down the road.

Teams can still make plays and win.  It's just when you face a team like Denver's defense you have to be perfect.  I don't think they always get what they want, but usually they do.   For instance, the way we played Arizona, it would be hard to take that one away from us.

Why would they want to take that away from us? We are the bigger market.

If the fans ever found out though, adlost faith in the league, the NFL would literally lose everything.

We already love the NFL, and the owners know it. I dont think they would risk their golden goose to fix games.

But I do think throughout history that players have thrown games.

Everyone speculates about it all the time and nobody seems to give a poo. I don't think people really care.

In tin foil hat world, they wouldn't want to take the AZ win away from us because we had the league MVP QB, the future of the league against the old Sheriff....

The NFL is not rigged so much as it is manipulated when put in a position to choose the outcome of a game. They don't say "OK guys, you don't get to tackle Peyton today," but when Peyton's receiver pushes off on third-and-long but catches one for 26? You might turn a blind eye to offensive PI. Panthers throw a long TD pass to take the lead?

You might "find" some holding somewhere on the line. To believe it's on the level is complete BS, but it's also BS to believe Elway won Super Bowls 32 and 33 because he's a Freemason. I don't think Elway is a 32nd or 33rd degree. I also think he's a complete dick.

I'm also a Freemason. Where the hell is my Lombardi?

The have more fans.   I don't think it really matters as much in population as how many fans there are and how much buying power the fans of that team have.  Advertisement companies go to great lengths to obtain these numbers and I'm sure facebook only makes it easier for them.   Age groups come into play as well.  Just like any placement of any commercial.

Do you believe in the skygod you've never seen?  if so, you're point is invalid.

Anyway don't you have some Mazda commercials to narrate or come up with more lame dad jokes?   You should know money rules all.

loooool ok.

good luck getting players and execs to keep quiet for decades... all of them... thousands of them... with nary a peep.

some of you are delusional.

I don't think it reaches that far.  I think the league and maybe a head ref.   It really started with Goodell if you look back.   They can legally do it, that is, legally manipulate games for suspense.   The money the NFL is making from advertisements is crazy.   They are really good at not going too far over, so people like you don't realize what is going on.
