Philly played the best of anybody on our offense that game

Overall Ginn played pretty well too.

Except on the ball that hit him in the hands and was picked off. We had TWO turnovers in Denver territory. Ginn just isn't made to catch those high and away balls on crossing routes. If it's Funchess or Benjamin they can make it but Ginn needs to have the ball on his body.

Given the way Cam was hit all game, getting a pass off like that is a wonderment in itself. It's Ginn's job to bring it down.

Both Brown and Ginn got separation a number of times during the game, which does not cohere with the national storyline that the Denver defensive backs were "suffocating" throughout the game.

265 yards on 19 completed, 14 yards per completion. Factor in Cotchery's 3 drops, Brown's 2 drops, Ginn's 2 drops including the interception that went off of his hands and you get a different picture.

I agree an NFL receiver should make that catch, but whooo boy did that ball have some mustard with relish on it.  That would have been a tough catch for KB or Funchi.

TOUGH, but in that situation, to call out Cam and not call out the receiver (though to expect Ginn to make that catch is like expecting Fozzy to come in and be adequate in blocking in max protect situations), is unfair. I've seen Ginn make ONE catch like that in his time here and that was against the Saint's in 2013 which put us into striking distance for the winning touchdown. Our first third down conversion of that game as well.

But still, that was the second turnover on their half of the field and Tolbert tried to give it away and additional time.

So the next question: What was going on with Tolbert. He doesn't have fumble problems yet fumbles twice in one game.

He had a key drop (and I believe Ginn did also, IIRC), but both of them did their best.  I want to see more of Funchess honestly. Ginn and Philly can fight it out for the (presumptive) Z position.

I don't believe that there's an need to make prognostications, as Gettleman is going to do what he does. I don't necessarily believe that he will target any receivers in FA, but I absolutely believe that he will pull the trigger on one as the BPA in the draft.

Just watch who we work out for the next three months. That should be an indication as to how contented that Getty is with Philly and Ginn.

I'll never understand why the coaching staff didn't approach Von Miller with the same regard as JJ Watt.

My guess would be that because Von Miller is not a singular threat, unlike JJ.  You neutralize JJ and you're good.  Alongside Von Miller are 4 or 5 other very dangerous defensive players.  If you use too many players to neutralize Von, you're open to attack by others.  (Just like opposing teams defenses trying to stop our offense when we're having a good day.  You try to double Greg, but then Ginn gets open.  Or Cam runs, or whatever....  we have a lot of ways to beat defenses.  Denver in reverse.)

That's likely the theory any way.  Not much good it does you if you CAN'T stop Von and he terrorizes your offense!!

Yeah, that is probably right. Sucks, because before the game I said the only chance Denver had was if Von Miller went off and "surely Shula and Rivera know this". Welp, guess they didn't.

respect for philly he showed up, ginn idk man did good but the running out of bounds business made no sense, the alligator arm catch that led to an int, ginn's a player that requires perfect ball placement to make a catch.

i'm a philly believer now, dude made plays and save cam on a would be int
