I think they should have to do a redo now.

A week from Sunday sound good?

Why? So you can get beat worse? that D would eat your team up 10/10 in 10 games. Don't feel bad though, it happened to us two years ago.

Keep blaming the ref's.. denial isn't just a river in Egypt.

I don't think the NFL fixed the game because it would take too much of massive effort to do so. I don't know if they even stressed certain things that would benefit the Broncos style of play.

That being said, I don't exactly trust the NFL not to try something like that either.

Cam Newton took a lot of illegal hits. I cannot recall one of them being called.

They let defenders hit him in the head with their hands, hit him helmet to helmet, stomp on his knee, leg whip him in the knee then roll on his knee, and contact him with a defender driving him into the ground after he threw the ball away.

Derek Wolfe ankle locked Stewart and rolled up on his legs.

Von Miller launched his head into Philly Brown's helmet, and Von Miller delivered a chop to Cotchery's throat after they had gone to the ground.

Sylvester Williams delivered a blow to Cam Newton's head with a running start after Cam had thrown the ball. Williams was 4 yards away when Cam released the ball.

Their safeties launch their bodies at everything and aim for the head or ball.

I do not get how the league can go after Burfict and then celebrate a Broncos team that is loaded with a bunch of Burficts. Not even trying to enforce penalties on the Broncos for this type of play. They called Talib, but that was because it was so blatant.

You can tell they are coached up to injure other players.

And what was up with their entire OL pushing piles? Isn't that illegal?

I prefer a clean game, but I also understand that letting an opponent play dirty will give them an unfair advantage. So, if the opponent declares the game to be dirty play and the refs allow it, then you have to play their game or lose.

The Panthers OL should have grabbed the outside of Miller's and Ware's shoulder pads and clamped down on their arms twisting them to the ground. Ride your hands from their chest into their neck/face as they angle their body around the edge.

The Panthers aimed to play clean against a dirty team the entire game and it cost them.

Because of the betting involved in football, if rigging was ever proven, many people would go to jail. The FBI would crush NFL executives. None of it is systematically fixed.

I totally agree.  However key word is systematically.  Rogue officials are hard to contain.  I find it hard to believe that none of the refs have any favorite teams growing up.  If they did, would they not subconsciously ref a certain way?

Betting is separate though.  The NFL can rig games without any trouble, they are an entertainment company.  They can even say "we rigged it for better ratings" and could not get in trouble.  They are exactly like WWE.  Doesn't matter if vegas bets, the NFL isn't associated with them.  Basically, they are betting knowing NFL can do whatever they want, legally.   Why would they then?  Because they hardly EVER lose money.

Does anyone remember that NBA ref who was rigging games?  http://www.cbsnews.com/news/ex-nba-ref-tim-donaghys-personal-foul/4/

Quote

It started outside a hotel at Philadelphia's airport: the FBI says two men associated with the Gambino crime family requested a meeting with Donaghy and took him for a ride.

"They came down and picked me up," Donaghy remembered. "They basically told me that I needed to give them the picks. And if I didn't that it's a possibility that somebody would go down and visit my wife and kids in Florida."

Donaghy said he believed them and was scared. From then on his picks were relayed to the mob.

Asked how he communicated his bets to the mob, Donaghy said, "I would discuss it with a high school friend of mine, who would pass the information along to them."

There was a code. "The code was if I want them to be the home team, I would discuss his brother Chuck. And if I wanted him to bet the visiting team, I would mention his brother Johnny," Donaghy explained.

FBI Special Agent Scala told Simon the FBI made a very conservative estimate that the mob made at least a few million dollars off Donaghy's picks.

Donaghy said the mob was paying him $2,000 per correct pick - peanuts considering they were making millions.

Bottom line is that anything is possible.  Here we are 13 years since the last Super Bowl and now we know that the Patriots filmed our practices and cheated us out of a likely Super Bowl win.  Would anyone ever be surprised if a story breaks in the subsequent years about the refs in this game?  There was alot of money placed on the Panthers.  The mob was possibly looking to lose a lot of money if the Panthers won the game.  Here is another interesting link stating the obvious.  Vegas was heavily rooting for the Denver Broncos to win the game.  http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2016/2/3/10904360/super-bowl-50-odds-panthers-vs-broncos-spread

Tin foil hat?  I would not be so quick to assume every thing is a conspiracy.  Sometimes its just about the money.

I remember being annoyed that the Tre Boston flag wasn't shown and that they picked up a holding/illegal contact flag on the Broncos...either you see the penalty or you don't. If you threw the flag, then you saw a penalty. There isn't anything to think about, to calculate, or to consider. Not sure how that flag got picked up.

Probably the same way they picked up the flag on Luke Kuechly in the Panthers/Patriots game two years ago on Monday night.

I think all the flags in the second half were against the Panthers.           It's hard to overcome that many flags.         Especially when the refs refuse to really call anything on the other team.          Somewhat reminded me of the first half of our 49ers playoff loss in '13.

refs treated this game like it was truly a Broncos home game,  not just in spirit but in reality.     They looked like they were afraid of the fans.          Von could've snapped Cam's neck and there would still be no way the refs would've threw a flag down on that TD.

I expect some teams to get favorable calls or noncalls for the home teams in home games,  in their own stadiums.    In the SB though,  I expect full equality.    If you gonna nitpick one team,  you better fuging nitpick the other team.

Take the Panthers opening drive of the 2nd half.

The Panthers completed a deep crossing route to Ted Ginn putting the Panthers at the 35 yard line of the Broncos.

Then Fozzy runs the ball for a 1st down to the 25 yard line.

Then the refs call a 15 yard unnecessary roughness penalty on Trai Turner for blocking after the play. Watching the play over, Trai Turner's defender is already on the ground and Trai is walking when the whistle sounds to end the play. This puts the Panthers back to the 40 yard line.

Ginn comes up with a completed slant to put the Panthers back at the 25 yard line.

Cotchery catches the ball, but lets it slip out as he goes to the ground. Perfect pass by Cam and would have put the Panthers at the 3 yard line.

On the next play, Philly Brown puts a double move on Roby and beats him. Cam is looking Brown's way, but Roby grabs Brown to pull him back in. Cam goes to another read and the pass is incomplete. An official throws a flag for defensive holding. Then after a conference they decide to pick the flag up. It would have put the ball at the 20 yard line with a 1st down. Instead the Panthers are made to kick a FG.

On the FG, Talib jumps the snap and is running through the neutral zone when the ball is snapped. Everyone sees this but the officials on the field. This play should have been flagged placing the Panthers at the 20 yard line with another attempt at a FG. The ball bounces off the uprights and is no good.

On this one drive the officials made 3 critical mistakes when the Panthers are coming up with big plays and threatening to score on the Broncos side of the field. How does a Super Bowl officiating crew miss 3 calls on one drive? This is the type of officiating performance that should get a crew fired from their jobs.

This is the best the NFL has to offer the Super Bowl with their officiating?

Turner put his man on the ground before the whistle, Roby held up Brown, and Talib was offsides. All of these were missed or improperly flagged by the officials.

Couple this with the Panthers second drive where the officials ruled Cotchery's catch imcomplete, failed to see it never touched the ground in the replay, and allowed Miller to hit Cam in the head (both helmet to helmet in the ear hole and with his hand clubbing the face mask of Newton) in order to get the fumble for a touch down. The officials were a major factor in the outcome of the game.
