 No brainer moves.

1. Cut Allen, frees up 8.5 Allen in cap space and does not add any dead money to cap.

2. Sign Norman to long term deal. 3-4 for years would be Ideal.

3. Cut Roman Harper, his current scheduled cap of 4.6 million is way too high. Will cause dead money of 450k in 16 and again in 17 but provides immediate cap relief of 4.150 Million. EDIT according to spotrac update it looks like this has already happened by virtue of his contract having voided years starting in 16.

4. Let Tolbert walk unless he wants to stay for vet minimum.

Tougher decisions.

1.Cut or extend Johnson? His regular season was very underwhelming. However he came on strong in playoff run. Getting 1 sack in each playoff game and forced a fumble in our last 2. He's obviously not worth the scheduled cap hit of 15 Million. Cutting him out right leaves 4 million in dead money and provides in 11 million in immediate cap space.

If we had some promising young talent on board at Defensive end cutting him would be a no brainer. So that leaves what kind of money is he worth on an extension? Probably would merit more money on the open market so if that's what he wants then we have to cut him.

2.  Jonathan Stewart. This is a tough one. Scheduled cap hit is 9.5 Million. If we cut him cap dead money is 7.2 million. Would have to spread cap hit over 2 years at 3.65 million a year for next 2 years. Net savings for 16 would only be 5.9 plus you have another 3.65 million in dead money in 16.

I think the dead money hit forces us to keep him 1 more year at his current figure.

Within 48 hours of losing a football game the fanbase of the Panthers is ready to make wholesale roster changes based upon the performances of that single game.

Left up to some of you, I'm surprised you weren't calling for SB half-time trades and free agent signings in hopes of making a game of it in the second half.

Just stop for second. Breath. Let the people who get paid to make the decisions do their jobs.

Don't think anyone is making wholesale changes but as every season you try to get better.  Johnson and Stewart have both been on borrowed time due to their huge contracts.  Allen didn't really show that much and the other players mentioned are either getting old or coming back from injury.

The new season starts in one month from today.  Hardly think it isn't time to start thinking about the future.

The old saying goes if you aren't getting better you're getting worse.

We can get better.  Who whom remains to be seen.  I could be happy with all four of the ones I mentioned coming back but be 100% sure.  This roster will not be the same in 2016.

Uh, that's kind of the point of a message board.  To discuss and speculate, and we're discussing and speculating what changes Gman and company will make.

Jared Allen - Love him but really didn't bring much additional to the team.

Dwan Edwards - really didn't hear much about him

Charles Johnson - Not much production from him in 2015 - Time to let Ealy go full time

Lastly I have been on the fence about this one but,

Jonathan Stewart - Unless he is willing to restructure,  We could find another bruising back at a much better price.  Plus being a super bowl contender I think we would just about anyone we offer would consider it..

What do you guys think of keeping Finnegan.

Once Bene comes back McClain would be obsolete.

Your thoughts?

Allen brings a lot to the team but the cost outweighs it. Johnson is a real question mark.

Finnegan is gone.McClain not really a good plan.
