Within 48 hours of losing a football game the fanbase of the Panthers is ready to make wholesale roster changes based upon the performances of that single game.

Left up to some of you, I'm surprised you weren't calling for SB half-time trades and free agent signings in hopes of making a game of it in the second half.

Just stop for second. Breath. Let the people who get paid to make the decisions do their jobs.

Most of those guys are FAs (Tolbert, Harper, Finnegan, McClain) and others are simply unteneable at their respective salaries (CJ, Allen). Nothing over the top in this thread thus far.

Tolbert gone too, really serves no purpose other than the occasional catch

Agree. I've always thought that his ability to catch passes has his real value ( that and laying the wood on defenders once he gets going) but we don't use him enough in that role, he is bad a running the ball, and he is just mediocre at blocking. If we want a fullback, go get a real fullback.

Not at all.  Just enjoying speculating a bit on what Dave and the crew might do now that the offseason has begun.   I have tons of confidence in our F.O. after what Dave has done the past 3 years.

We've got some Cap space this year which is exciting, but that doesn't mean we can or should resign everyone.   Love the 2015 Panthers.  It was a really solid roster overall, great mix of youth & veterans... played far above most everyone's expectations.  But, there WILL be roster changes...  no harm in debating what they might be.

PEOPLE! Please get this point and drop it! CJ has no incentive to restructure! He isn't worth his cap hit! Not even close! I enjoyed the time he was a Panther, but unless he decides to play for free some, then he is gone! Especially if we gonna tag/deal with Norman!

Jared Allen will get released then resigned to a feasible deal based on his vet leadership! He coaches the young guys and doesn't bitch on Twitter!

Stewart needs to play out another year on that ridiculous contract! Dead cap space is stupid versus carrying him into another year.

Dickson needs to go, so it seems! A lot better in FA this year! Need To get a viable two TE sets in the mix IMO.

Would love to see Cotchery give it one more year, but understandable if he done.

Roman Harper should be brought back in at a reduced rate! Pretty sure Tillman done!

Hopefully Tolbert is brought back and SB game dropped his asking price most likely!

Most of our depth should be re-signed, however, nice opportunity to churn the bottom half of the roster.

Bring Barksdale in to compete with Remmers. Not sure where the company stands on Chandler, but would be nice to have a better plan B for LT. Would be real nice to spend a little jingle and bring in a Okung or Glenn and push Oher back to the right side, but who knows!

They way I see it, we bring in a mid to upper DE and OT. A solid vet safety(could see weddle filling that role, be good for Boston, Coleman, and Marlowe), a solid DT to replace Dwan Edwards. If Cotchery leaves I can see pursuing a Boldin. Rather see a Jermaine Kearse there but we see!

Allen - I think he retires.  Obviously we let him go because we're not paying $8 mill.  If he wants to come back cheap, I'm ok if he's going to be a backup and stay as one (unless something really bad happens).

CJ - Gone.  He won't take a large enough pay cut to be worth it to keep.  Someone will overpay, like the Falcons.

Dwan - Gone.  Up in age, always hurt, had some good years for us, later.

Love - Keep. Guy is great depth.

Stewart - I think he stays.  I'm just not sure it's worth cutting him for what he brings.  We need to lower his workload some, and no not with trick play Fozzy, but with someone like Cap or something.

Tolbert - If he's cheap, fine, but he's no longer the player he was.  I'll admit I'm a little bitter about the fumbles still, but the fact is we don't use him like we used to and I'm not sure he's able to anyway.

Norman - at worst, he's tagged, at best he works out a fair deal and maybe some sort of hometown discount to help us get to the show again

Harper - Seriously, please let this guy go.  Boston needs to take over.

Tillman - I bet he retires, but it's time to move on.

Cotchery - I hope we sign a FA like Jeffery or someone younger.  I think it may be time to move on.  Granted I'm still salty from the game still haha.

I really think with the money we have, it's time to make at least one FA splash.  I think Jeffery would make the most sense and would put us over the top on offense and with him/KB/Funchess/Ginn/Brown/Olsen, it would be hard to get stopped.  I know we had the #1 offense but we were exposed in the SB and you never stop trying to get better.

I don't know if we can upgrade the OL in FA, I"m not sure who is out there yet.

Of our pending free agents, I want us to resign Josh Norman, Kyle Love, Joe Webb, and Mike Remmers.

That means Mike Tolbert, Roman Harper, Amini Silatolu, Charles Tillman, Brad Nortman, Cortland Finnegan, etc. Should be let go.

Of those with existing contracts;

Charles Johnson (saves 11 mil, 4 dead)

Jared Allen (saves 8.5 mil, 0 dead)

Nate Chandler (Saves 1.3 mil, .4 dead)

Teddy Williams (Saves .9, .1 dead)

Dwayne Edwards (Saves 1.6, .5 dead)

This game wasn't lost by the players as much as by the coaches. Our personnel has been better than everyone we've played this season. Finally, a game that required a little adjustment on the offensive side and you see what happens. My frickin wife said why don't they do something to stop #58 from getting in every play?!

Nah, Shula and Ron just closed their eyes and hoped the boogie man would just go away when they opened them. Nope, it wasn't a dream, the boogie man was still there!

Gotta keep stew, he was a huge reason we were 15-1. He takes pressure off of cam and he is a huge part of our offense. But I would make CAP the sole backup, as we have to see if he can be a starter in the future.

I would like to see allen/harper/tillman/finnigen/cotchery all gone. I honestly think gettleman can replace them pretty easily in the free agency.

Tolbert is a tough one, but i Just dont see his value at his price. We can find someone to replace him much cheaper.

Norman - franchise

Charles Johnson- peace out

Jared Allen- unless it's a very discounted deal then peace out

Harper- unless discounted deal then peace out

Tolbert- welcome back

Stewart- thanks for everything, good luck in your career

Cotchery- KB is back, way too critical drops yesterday. Brown, Funchess, KB, Ginn is what we are rolling with and whoever we draft

Edwards/Love- stay as long as their cheap

Peanut- great man but his age and an ACL, wish you well but he won't return

Norman- enjoy the tag

That's how I see it

I agree with most of this.  My thoughts on a few:

Jared Allen- even at a discounted rate would he want to be second string and would we have room for him in the rotation?  His experience is no doubt valuable, but at what price to the development of our young guys?

Harper- I think his days as a Panther are done, we can use the money elsewhere.  You can't beat Father Time.

Tolbert- this is a tough one, the term/money has to be right because I think he has regressed the last two seasons.  Again, age is catching up with him.

Stewart- another tough decision - saying goodbye saves us a good amount of money, but when healthy he fits our system better than anyone I can think of off the top of my shallow head.  It may be that CAP or someone else can step in, but if we are wrong it could lead to some major problems down the road.

you guys crazy to say we should let Stewart go..he was huge part of the success of this team..

what you guys are missing that the reason we did so well was because of the Locker room atmosphere..to throw that specific piece away to free up cap space just isn't worth it..

Only person I see as a liability is Gano..I hold my breath every time he kicks..reminds me of Bersin who use to run the ball back in Kick returns..

My personal wish list!

Mario Williams to replace CJ! (His suitor market is small because he has proven he can only do it in a 4-3)

Andre Smith to bring some veteran leadership to our O-Line and Donald Stephenson for some quality depth

Weddle if cheap or the recently cut William Moore to replace Roman Harper

Casey Hayward to replace Tillman

Kendall Reyes to replace Dwan Edwards.

Zach Miller or Dewayne Allen to replace Dickson
