Any ideas on how to clean up my Panthers helmet?

I have an old full size replica helmet I got as a Christmas gift way back in 1994. However, on one of the stripes is a white scuff. Is there any safe way to remove it? It's been on there for ages. I thought about marker, but afraid it would look stupid.

Nah I couldn't. It's sentimental. A gift from my parents when they were together and when I was 9. I couldn't harm it.

Oh I understand, mine was a gift from my mom, I would never do anything to it either!
