shula will forever be the scapegoat, Idk how some ignore the fact that later in the game some point in us driving a offensive lineman would get a false start. not to mention every good play shula call either result in a drop, fumble , or got called back because our players decide to get a PF while we were in broncos territory.

There were numerous plays where we were in max protection and the o line still got obliterated, dickson and fozzy both whiff on chip blocks. How shula even is on the list of top 5 people to blame is the Huddle being the Huddle, if we even have half a decent performance from the players on o we still win the game by 10 or 13 easily.4 people on offesne came to play Cam,Ginn,Funchess, and Philly. In the offseason go get us a wr with some attitude, somebody should have lit a fire under the offense ass after the tolbert fumble, but no one did, they just collectively laid down as a unit pathetic display.

Denver came with more intensity and pressure than our offense has seen all season.  Our players were not prepared for it and became their own worst enemies for all the reasons you've listed.

I agree the D on the peyton's first drive settle in immediately afterwards and you have to think is it because we have multiple leaders on defense, Cam settled in after some over throws then the wr's started dropping balls, o line starts playing soft as charmin, tolbert fumbles, only other leader i can think of is jericho's ass, but hard to lead when your majority of the problem.

it was just like the atlanta loss.

they came in expecting an easier game and got kicked in the nuts and couldn't recover.

Our D seems to be made of tougher stuff, no doubt TD and the other vets have a lot to do with that.

Need to find that same resiliency on O before next season because our opponents will be trying to Denver us all season long.

Its easy to blame Shula, but the execution was horrible. When watching the game, it seemed several times good plays were called, but just terrible execution and penalties killed drives...any OC would've have a hard time getting into a rhythm and constantly having to play behind the chains....

First drive - perfect play call, Cam misses a wide open P.Brown for a 1st...(3 & out)

Second drive - perfect play call, Cotchery drops the ball....Remmers gets beat by Miller for the strip, sack, TD...

Third drive - perfect play call, Ginn wide open but Cam misses him. Drive kept alive by Denver PF....Cotchery drops a 3rd down conversion.

Fourth drive - TD (73 yard drive)

Fifth drive - This drive is on Shula for the horrible trick play to Ginn....(3 & out)

Sixth drive - perfect misdirection read-option play to Tolbert...who fumbles. Denver ball.

Ninth drive - 15 yard PF on Turner....Drop pass by Cotchery on the 4 yard line....Missed field goal by Gano

Tenth drive - Cam throws INT on the Denver 28 (Ginn was open could have probably made a better play on the ball)

On almost every drive after that there is either a false start, sack, or turnover.

A few additions/corrections:

Second drive - perfect play call, Cotchery catches the ball

Fifth drive - I used to draw that play up in my backyard in 5th Grade

Ninth drive - all due respect for a pretty great throw, but that was a difficult catch for even the best NFL receiver and then Gano choked

Tenth drive - I love Ginn, but Cam has to know he can't handle that heat!

What drove me crazy was the # of 1st down runs off guard or between the tackles netting us at most 2 yards.

Denver's D threw our offense off its game early and and Carolina never managed to recover any consistency after that.

Cam and the O will need to take it to another level next year because every opponent will be trying to replicate what Denver did yesterday.

Agreed, but most opponents won't have Ware and Miller to do what Denver did last night!

Also, hopefully our O-line gets healthier and better!

wish he would have switched it up on first down..but shula wasnt overthrowing wide open guys, dropping passes or allowing cam to get sacked all night

There's no excuse for the way the coaches managed the clock. The players did not and could not execute the game plan. Even my teenage son could see it was bad game plan to begin with.  I didn't see any adjustments or urgency from anyone and that starts at the top.

The trick play wasnt a problem versus AZ. The problem is we already showed it and they planned for it. Simple and plan. Our Oline didnt show up and the fumbles hurt. Not Cams fumbles but Tolberts hurt the worst. We were marching. The interception in the red zone hurt. thats 14 points left on the field. We stuck to what we knew how to do best. We ran because we werent down but 1 posession. Why leave the game plan when we are in striking distance.  Why be pass happy when we arent down but 6 points. Why be who we are not?

And what about the defensive game plan?  Our defense played good for the most part, but it seemed like they averaged 7 seven yards until they reached the red zone . McDermott's blitzing only worked once and allowed Peyton, of all people, to pick apart the weakest links in our defense. Adjustments man adjustments.

We got out coached and outplayed. I'm glad this happened early with the guys with have. Hopefully they learn from this, add some talent on offense and stay healthy next season.
