Positions we need to upgrade

OL, RB, S, CB, DE

I'm assuming that Roman Harper, Jared Allen, Charles Johnson, and possibly Jonathan Stewart will all be gone, thus making some holes. Josh Norman is gone eventually too but even if he isn't the team still needs another CB.

JNo eventually unless he likes it here enough to take a little off his asking price.  He will be tagged.

The rest are gone as you said.

CB, DE, SS, OT

I say CB is priority only because I think Josh is gone after next season. We need a real replacement for CJ, who I think is gone. I think Boston will start next year but we need another safety as a backup and potential replacement for Coleman, the next year. I didn't put WR because of getting KB back and of Cam's comments about Stephen Hill but obviously if there is value in getting another WR in the draft, then by all means. We also need a succession plan for Oher, potentially at least.

S, Name one positive play harper made all season...............

RB. Stew is great but we need a homerun back, at least as a backup

OT. obviously

WR. tired of our wr's getting bullied, can't wait for kb to come back Funchess and Ginn were the only two to have some sort of passion last night.

CB. need depth

DE. just so Rivera doesn't feel the necessity to start old veterans

Ok, my thoughts on positions needing upgrades - My #1, 2 & 3 are not necessarily in order of priority.  I think we need help at all 3:

High Priority:

1)  DE, assuming we let go CJ and/or Allen.  Even if we keep one, they are slowing down and less effective than we need them to be.  Frank Alexander will still be suspended sometime into next fall, so he's no help.  Assume we will have Ealy, Addison, Delaire and Horton.  Don't know how Cox fared on the PS if he could be a candidate. But definitely would like more elite pass rushing talent

2) Oline:  A tackle to groom to replace Oher.  Assuming Daryl Williams will start at RT, and that Remmers will become a backup.  We also may need to groom a new Center to replace Kalil.  There seemed to be a lot of centers on & off our PS late in the season.... wondering if the Front Office knows something we don't about Kalil's status.

3) DBs.  Assume we tag or sign Norman and that Bene comes back full strength.  Even if we can keep Peanut for another year, not sure if we can count on a full injury-free season from him.  McClain & Finnegan seem ok for the situation they were thrust into, but who knows if Finnegan will play another year, so, it might be good to find another good CB.   Safety:  I assume Harper might retire.... Tre likely can take his place, but we need more depth behind Tre & Coleman.

Less critical, but desirable:

4) ST, especially Gunner.  I agree with those who thought Teddy Williams had WAY too many penalties, and generally it feels like we're missing something on our ST.  We never get near to blocking any kicks or making any real impact plays on ST

5) RB/FB???  Stew was a key part of our season, but the way we run him, it's not realistic to expect him to be able to play all 16 weeks without injury.  Tolbert & Fozzy too seem to get gimpy late in the season.  Need more youth / speed at RB.  We didn't see enough of CAP & Wegher to know whether they can be part of the answer.  I wouldn't be against keeping Stew another year, and Tolbert is probably underrated..., but we need to be moving towards the future...  Love both Stew & Tolbert, but we might need to move on from one or both soon.

6) DT depth?  Don't remember how old Dwan Edwards is.... we may need to be grooming more DT depth given how heavily we rotate players on the Dline.

7) TE:  I'm hoping we'll begin to be keeping an eye out for a special TE to groom as an eventual replacement for Greg.... someone who can learn from him BEFORE Greg retires.  (Kind of like we're doing with Shaq & TD), but that may not need to be this year yet.  Greg is amazing in his consistency & durability.

8) WR: not on my priority list unless there's a special talent available...  Assume we'll have KB, Funch. Ginn, Philly  (and then there are the unknowns of Hill, Norwood, Byrd...).  Assume Cotchery retires.  Don't know if we keep Bersin around as a possession type receiver.  Looking doubtful....not sure there's room for him on the roster.....

Nothing new.

Need to improve our T play (answer possibly is already on the roster)

Need to improve our DBs

Need to improve our DEs

Need to improve our WRs (getting Kelvin back isn't enough.  B/c we can't go back to the 2014 version where we lack speed.  I'm done with Ginn.  We need a roleplaying speedster IMO.)

RB and TE are also on my list too.

Ginn needs to go.  He served us well enough but we can't be content with what he offers.  We need KB and Fun Fun....and need to bring in a speed WR.

Ginn ran out of bounds early and left yards on the field, Ginn was responsible for an alligator arms INT.  Then he brings his standard up and down stuff.  Need consistent play.

The only position I think we need to go out and get someone for is CB. Norman and Bene are good but we need a solid 3. SS, DE, RT, and WR we have guys on the roster that are ballers. Boston had some mental lapses but he's an upgrade. Ealy was the best player on the field for us last night. We didn't see much of Williams but give him a shot. And we're getting KB back. All we need to do is fill in behind those guys.

Yes but we need another DE

Tackle, Running Back, Defensive End, Safety.

Our WR's are actually fine. With KB coming back next year, its pretty low on our immediate needs. Philly Brown came on strong until he got hurt.

What's interesting to think about, after Philly went down yesterday, we struggled even more moving the ball through the air...  I think Philly is going to have a spot here for a long time.

He played really well against some of the best DB's in the league. Ted Ginn got alot of big play credit but Philly really proved to be reliable. I think we're having a little bit of a knee-jerk reaction to the game yesterday. This WR core has done well this year. Getting KB is better than reaching for a receiver in the draft.

You mean to tell me we had a 1,000 yd receiver sitting out all last year and we got to the Super Bowl? .... yeah... not as important as shoring up both lines.

But I have said all year that our running game is not as good as we or others think. Cam is a big part of those rushing yards. We need to get some running backs in here with youth and speed.

I disagree about WR! Philly is good and will get better, but we need someone that perfects what we are asking of him! Me thinks a player like Corey Coleman transforms our Offense. Also, I think Cotchery is done! Really digging a good vet WR to replace him!

I would really be happy with a Andre Johnson or Boldin to replace Cotch and a dynamic/speed guy in the second at WR. Coleman might be too high of a pick tho.

At RB we could use some speed.

We need some new tackles.

On defense we should honestly just try to retain what we already have by cutting Allen, CJ, etc. This defense is dynamic and skilled enough to win a SB. It is our offense that needs the influx of new talent.
