Good Ridance Big Money go screw over another organization and suck azz. You you were never better than slightly above average and we've paid for a stud.

A little harsh, but essentially true. He has not played very well for at least the last 2 seasons. He just played his last game in a panthers jersey, IMO. Someone else will pick him up for a couple of years, he's not a bad player, just not worthy of the elite player money we'll have to pay him next year.

CJ had a great run here, but his lack of production is not worth the contract.  He's a good dude, hard worker, but he's not been able to play the pass as well as he has in the past.

That's just the truth.  We can save a bunch of money to use else where.  It's the nature of the business end of things.

Honestly, maybe he lost the drive when he signed the big contract.  Maybe injuries have been to blame.  All I know is, he produces almost no pass rush.

I dont think he's ever been the same since the Patriots game a few years ago on MNF

Agree 100%. CJ was a pretty productive player prior to that specific game (arguably overpaid, but the 2010 pass rusher market drove his price up), but hasn't looked anywhere near the same since.

I have thought all season, this was his last with us. He never did anything to change my mind.

I really think so. Cap hit is just to much to keep him.

I have to agree with these sentiments.   Of course, whether or not the Front Office and coaches agree, we shall see.  He improved incrementally in the last few games.  He wasn't quite so invisible.  But I don't see him becoming a dominant force again.

Unfortunately, I was not following the Panthers when he was having really good seasons.   Last year and this year especially, he hasn't seemed to play up to the level of salary at all or be the reliable force we need as a DE.
