Mike Shula: "Cam wasn't good enough". Probably because you called a horrible game, Shula.

Where can we find the Dickson quote?

I'll find it, but to paraphrase he just said it was unfair to put the load on the OTs that they were given.  Which is true.  Should of ran Cam more to take pressure off them.  Oddly similar to the Atlanta loss IMO.

Calling out?

How about accountability.

Our offense as a whole, failed to execute. So he was right by saying they didn't play well enough. The.mistakes and turn overs speak of this also. The offensive players have admitted as much.

Stop making it out like he's passing the blame.

Accountability starts at the top with coaching and is also the responsibility of ALL players as well as the staff.  I had a problem with making it public as there is enough bs in the media and pundits - keep the blame and coaching opportunities in the locker room and on the field.  Shula needs to also hold himself to that standard, not just the players.   JMHO.

i don't hate Shula and am not calling for his head.  I would prefer the team remain unified and not give ANYONE fodder.  As one old fox used to say "It is what it is."

Name me a Franchise where a Coach (LET ALONE A COORDINATOR OF ALL PEOPLE) publicly lay blame on any other particular group, ESPECIALLY THE FRANCHISE QB. I'll be at work ALL DAY, so I'll wait.

I don't give a damn what yiu are doing all day.  He isn't laying blame.

But don't let that stop ya.

denver's pass rush were aggressive all game and we didn't call 1 single draw, screen, or reverse to ginn to take advantage of their aggression #fugshula

We threw it all the way across the field to Olsen 1 time and it worked! He caught the ball and picked up big yards.

Lot of guys last week didn't want Shula to get cute and we also heard the team is going to stick to what it does.

So many missed chances is the killer here. Two dropped ints by Norman. Dropped passes esp near the goaline with Cotch. Missed fgs.

If Cam fumbles those two between the 30's, Denver probably doesn't scoe. But he didn't.

Fumbles by rbs. Not recovering fumbles and even Denver got positive yards on a fumble.

I knew we were in trouble when we called the trick play. Now I can't be a hypocrite I wanted us to run that exact play, I actually had a dream about it.

If you recall that trick play was the same play we called in Cam's first or second year, can't remember which. Anyway he threw it out to Legadu Nanee (remember that guy) and Nanee through it back to Cam and Cam took it to the 3 yard line, I want to say it was against Tampa.

Anyway I had that dream and was thinking we should do it in the superbowl, and to my surprise we did, I had no problem with the play, I had a problem with when he called it. Trick plays are, imo, for 2nd and short. The defence doesnt know if you're going to run or pass, go short or long, thats when you hit them with one of Chuds old plays. Not 2nd and long at midfield, especially when you've struggle to move the ball.

And for one last thought, can anyone recall having anything less than a 3rd and 7 for entire game? Its hard enough to convert against that defense as it is and you expect to convert 3rd and 10's all night? It's not going to work.

I'd probably have to look closer at the plays (which wont happen) but it seemed like Shula/the offence went away from the pre conceived idea that we would take Von Miller out of the equation through misdirection and the way we ran the ball. It was like 2014 where we ran the ball for a yard then pass, pass, by the 2nd half it was painfully predictable what we'd do.

I'm still upset about that gimmick play on 2nd down when we were on Denver's side of the field. Went from having a chance to tie or go up 14-10 to just punting it away and giving up the 61 yard return.

Exactly.

Lets remember: We had just scored a TD. The defense rises up and gets a three and out. We get the ball at our own 49. We end up losing 2 yards and have to punt. Our punter then completely screws up by only punting 25 yards. We then further f it up by not tackling the returner. Boom. Denver inside our own 10.

Thank God our defense rises up and gets only a FG.

Series like that is why a team loses a really big game. You cannot be in prime scoring position and then f it up so bad that now the other team is in prime scoring position.

Especially in a game where field position and points are going to be at a premium.
