Just saw them talk about this on NFL network.  No one ever does this justice.

I have been a fan since the beginning.  I remember Mr. Richardson's news conference announcing the team.

I remember Sam  Mills. Loved him as a player. He was a true Panther....what we all wanted our players to be.

I remember Hope Stout.  That young girl that the team embraced in 2003.  She was dying of cancer.  When Make a Wish approached her....her wish was that all the other kids on the list have their wish fulfilled. An incredible kid.  She inspired the Panthers and the rest of us who paid attention. 

And then there was coach Sam.  He defined Keep Pounding for us.  I tear up at the game when someone pounds the drum.  It is not just a tradition/slogan.....this stuff is really deep. It means something.  It means everything.

I hope the players understand that.  They seem to have the spirit.  They play for each other.  They are a team in the true sense. I am more proud of that than anything.  I think Sam would have loved this team.

Today the team is not just playing for the championship...trophies and rings. They are playing for something more. The legacy of Sam and Hope and all those who want to make things better for others.

No matter the outcome today, I am sure our players will recognize their ability to make a positive difference in the lives of others.  That is something I love about them.

I also love our tradition and the fact that we stand for something.

I believe that it is our time.

This is our day.

The tears have already been flowing.  #KEEPPOUNDING means so much more than the words.

When you have been kicked hard by life...keep pounding. When you feel like there is no light at the end of the tunnel....keep pounding.  When you can see that the finish line is 5 steps away and you are ready to win it all...keep pounding.  When you bury a loved one and there are no second chances to say "I love you"....keep pounding.  When your team is on the precipice of greatness and there is one more opponent standing in your way....keep pounding.

#KEEPPOUNDING is about finding HOPE and the strength and drive to find a way to get through any obstacle and to FIND YOUR WAY.

I am way too emotional.  I am pumped full of adrenaline.  I am ready....are YOU, PANTHER NATION??????

I felt really good about this game for 2 weeks. Now that's it's about to happen I'm nervous as hell. If they win I might just shed a tear or 2.
