Not really. First it said if a long term deal cannot be reached and second tagging him is like 14 mill gauaranteed. i think we may actually get a deal done give. Our cap situation, I think they actually might view him as a core player

The bidding will start at 39M guaranteed.

I'm guessing something along the lines of 4 for 43 with 39M guaranteed, if we can sign him....which will really be a 3 year for 39...about the same as what Revis got.

That said, I expect the tag to come first, then the negotiations, not the other way around.

Still amazes me that the NFLPA didn't get rid of the franchise player tag during the lock out.  All the players hate it!

Shorten practice hours, less OTA's, minimum salary is raised, less hitting in TC = Tag stays in place.
