Falcons secondary in flux as Panthers loom

The Falcons secondary is not in transition if that is what you mean. It is however in a state of cohesion brought on by the addition of new solid material.

Brian Williams knows Mike Smith and his defense and was brought in to provide veteran laedership! Ty Hill was brought in as he is a former #1 pick who didn't understand St Louis defense.

In defense of Hill, who does?

You guys will see Williams and Chris Houston in our base defense with Erik Coleman and Thomas DeCloud at safety.

We will probably put Chevous Jackson on Mohammed and Bring in Brent Grimes in other nickel and dime coverages depending on matchup.

Really though, what difference does it make who is in the Falcons secondary when you guys have Santa Claus under center?

It wont trust me, Williams has worked under Coach Smith for some time and picking up the scheme will be easy for him, that is truly the only change that has been made. Ledbetter is just stirring up some mess.

Thanks dude. Can't resist the jab though as I had Delhomme active last week on my fantasy team. He seriously had a bad game.

Makes the Atlanta matchup so much more intriguing as he has had some seriously good games against us.

We will see.

Right now our starters are Williams and Houston. Grimes came in vs Miami in nickel situations and played the outside while Williams covered the slot. Even thought Williams was a late roster addition, he's very familiar with the system having played in it in Jax.

Houston is the weak link of the defensive backfield. He's a good cover guy but has no ball recognition skills. He'll be right on the guy and allow the catch because he never turns his head to locate the ball. DeCoud at safety is still somewhat of an unknown as he's a 2nd year guy without a lot of experience. Didn't get a chance to really focus on him vs Miami as Miami never threw deep.
