Getting Annoyed

Devil Doc

I got here today.  The panthers fans are arriving.  I brought my flags and magnets for my rental car and I keep getting honked at with thumbs up.  95% of the people I encountered are rooting for us.  I was actually surprised by the Seahawks fans in jerseys I encountered at Fisherman's Wharf - maybe really only 10 total in 3 separate groups, but what they heck are they doing here in gear.  My husband had to hold me back from saying them - awwwww - did you already plan this trip thinking you were going to be playing?.  Sorry (not sorry) for that.

I still have not hit Superbowl City - just seeing sights today (arrive at 10:20 am their time).  Superbowl City is tomorrow.

Charlotte CBS station 3 WBTV have had great station spots. They ask, who wants the Panthers to win Super Bowl 50? then have Panthers players answer with, WBTV and me. Luke, Olsen, Tolbert, TD. They also have a really great spot: show the clip of Cam & everyone on the side line when Cam says, dab on 3 ... 1,2,3,dab; "Dab on 3WBTV" then shows over the picture of the team dabbing. They've gotten the spirit.

They have a crew in SF & tonight they said they've seen many more Panthers fans today & not all from NC. They interviewed 1 SF man who named his son Steph, after Steph Curry and therefore, because of Curry, he's a Panther fan. Even had a Panthers hat on. Besides, the Panthers employees JR paid for just arrived tonight.

Dumb things to be annoyed about. Denver has been in super bowl like 8 times. They're bound to pick up some fans. Pats have won 4 titles. Seattle is closer to SF than Carolina. Of course that's what you're gonna see here along with SF and Raiders. Denver is also closer than North Carolina.

What annoyed me is the disrespect from all pro shops. 10x more Broncos stuff than Panthers. No shop in SF had jerseys with letters/numbers sewn on, all screen print. I wanted a black one to wear to the game (I have white) since that's what they'll be wearing. I even tried to beg Nike to sell me the mannequin Kuechly jersey. No luck!

Here's another take on things too - SF fans live here.  Their team is not in it.  They have nothing better than to stand next to where coverage is being broadcasted and BOO for a team that can crush them.  People like me - I've never been to SF and I plan on taking advantage of seeing everything I can see while I'm here.  It's a whole lot of fun walking around places that aren't near that action and "high fiving" every panthers fan I see in the street.    I don't care about standing near the ESPN or NFL Network stages for my "hi mom" moment.  If I happen to be walking by and they want a cheer from a panthers fan, I'll give it to them.  Otherwise, I'm enjoying all parts of my experience.

Seems like, more and more Panther fans are arriving this weekend.

The folks you been seeing are TV, actually live out there.

You would expect most people in the west would be Bronco fans.

Now, you see more and more Panther fans are TV (if that's important to you), since Fri.

Hell, even JR arrived yesterday.

That should be good enough for most of us.
