I forgot about the cards!!!

Awesome you still have them.

I have 3 of them....not sure where the rest are....I have no idea how/why I still have them but they were in a box with some mouth pieces and trophies and poo...guess it used to be cool to keep your mouth piece.

I was starting quick guard and back up DE/DT 4-3 my senior year. Our O-line looked like this TE QG C SG T OT the strong side would switch based on the play. Also I got Honorable Mention for All County as a guard at 6 foot 140 lbs. I pulled well and run blocked almost perfect every game but sucked at pass blocking seeing as I was so tiny. Funny story I was supposed to start my junior year but I would run block too high and get pushed around (140 lbs). While on JV during half-time the coach pulled me aside and told me to block lower and stop getting pushed around (he sounded pissed). To show him I was already doing my best I bear crawled for the rest of the game on run plays. After the game he congratulated me and said if I had done that all year I would have been starting on varsity.

My greatest moment was when I blocked an extra point by tricking the guard. I lined up outside shoulder and shot the inside gap. I went through clean, blocked the kick, and had a painful red mark with jersey lines just above my arm pit; hurt like hell.

Played WR and OLB for Jr and Sr seasons. The starting QB was my best friend so I got lots of reps which was probably why I got to play so much. I knew the routes better than anyone else. Caught lots of passes, and even scored a few TDs. Until the night I caught a slant and got slobber knocked by Brad Van Pelt. (Yea that Van Pelt that played at Michigan State, and for the Giants.) He was 6'3 and 240 in High School. Knocked the wind out of me so bad I was down for what seemed like an eternity.

One of my first plays at LB I blitzed on my own. When I got near the QB he did a pump fake. I didn't fall for it and drove my shoulder into his chest. That "Ooomph" was the sweetest sound I think I have ever heard. After the play the coach took me out, yelled at me for half an hour for disregarding his call. Told me if I ever did it again it would be my last play. Needless to say, I didn't do it again, cuz the guy scared the shiit out of me.

My favorite moment was going to an away game in the rain. When we got off the bus we all ran onto the field and dove into all the mud puddles we could find. Got up all muddy and wet and looked at the opposing team just staring at us. We smoked them for our only win of the year.

Good stuff man!

When I was in jr high, I remember my coach asking me "did you blitz on that play"? I said yea of course.

I honestly thought you were supposed to blitz on every play. I didn't have a clue back then, wasn't a very good listener it appears.

I was a QB and Will Backer. It was ironman in those days! I did get a chance to play with some NFL talent. I played with younger kids that went on to play in the NFL. Jerome Simpson being a kid that I played ball with when he was a HS player long after I had moved on in life.
