Cam Newton disappointed me

Yeah. But what about everyone Else's "little girl" in the restaurant that wanted attention, if he had done that?

Remember, this is BEFORE/DURING/AT THE SUPERBOWL. It's not like he was going to the local restaurant in Charlotte after playing a game the previous weekend.This is a business trip.

The guys, still got a game to play, after all the pomp and ceremony the previous 3 days. I'm sure he feels "It's time to get focused!"

I would personally never bother someone like that other than to say good luck or something simple. If they then offer a photo with your child then great but to expect it is your problem.

I understand like I said but I get the feeling this would have happened regardless of what was going on on Sunday pretty sure there have been a couple stories like this involving Cam. He's allowed to be who he wants to be and make his own choices just kind of disappointing when it involves children who don't understand what being a "celebrity" is. It'd be different for me if it was an adult getting turned down.

I hear ya. But that's why the parent has to be the proper assessor [of the situation], decision maker and not the child.

And judging by the OP's reactionary, semi-entitled response here (with all due respect), I'm not surprised it went down the way it did.

It's not his job to teach them either. Their parents should tell them these are people and sometimes they don't want to be bothered. Cam didn't have to acknowledge anyone in that restaurant last night. People can't get their feelings hurt by this, you know.

I agree but in the end it doesn't matter this incident isn't going to make me an anti Cam fan I completely understand him not wanting to take pictures just a bit disappointing is all this opportunity will likely not happen again for the OP.

Why do people expect the world to bow down to every child? There some concept that children deserve everything all the time.

....guys, Why are y'all being mean to this guy? I mean sure it's not Cam's responsibility or he's not obligated. But these are his children man. They look up to Cam. They don't care about a fb post or anything of that nature. These little girls wanted to meet someone they look up to. No need to be assholes towards Keep Pounding. To me this isn't about Cam being private it's about his little kids man. Y'all need to be a little more empathetic. =\

 

 

Keep Pounding, I hope you don't hold a grudge towards Cam. I'm not trying to defend him or anything like that but he's probably been through a lot of pressure, I'm sure you've seen his pressers and how he seems a little agitated by the media. It's really hit or miss if you meet them in public, that's what I've gathered. Hopefully there's an event where you can meet him and the rest of the team where you can get pics or have your kids meet him. Sucks your little girls had to go through that.

Because an amazing experience like this could have been doesn't come around very often especially for a child. I get it Cam doesn't owe anyone a damn thing!!! It's been said a million times already

It's tough.

I feel for the guy and his kids.

Obviously, no one would like something like that to happen to them.

At the same time, we have to realize our own individual culpability after the hurt or surprise fades away.
