i would teach my daughter to be excited that she got to see cam out in public, but to respect his privacy in non-team functions. if cam was at practice or leaving the stadium after a game i would be really bummed, but it's hard for me to imagine imposing on another man's privacy, let alone getting mad when he feels it's an imposition. maybe this can be a learning opportunity for the kids, and your chance to get them looking optimistically at the fact they got to see cam irl

 

Also this. I always felt bad for him when I saw him getting swarmed at Auburn where people would literally run up to him and take pictures without even asking.

I back Cam 100%. He is the center of attention of the biggest game in the SB era. Constsnt,  constant,  CONSTANT social and media expectations. Dealing with some real asshole people on and off camera and keeping composure.

 As an introvert i can totally relate. I can live normally and be completly fine in social settings but its draining as fug..  Its like having a extrovert battery supply..  Once that poo is out,  its out and i need alone time to recharge.

 

Leave the man alone!  From what ive seen cam has introverted qualities. He has to put so much energy into interviews and meeging obligations..   You know what the more i think about it the more i get pissed about the OP..   Dude youre like the opitome of the nieve fan. You have no idea what its like go be hounded like that non stop.  He doesnt owe poo to you. 

 

I bet you used your kids to try and interact with Cam. I promise you they didnt recognjze him with his hood on.

It's ok guy, I was disappointed when I saw Candice Bergen in a restaurant in New York.  This was in her early 'Murphy Brown' days, early nineties. I didn't get her autograph either.  Still think about that.

You can look at this many ways. Cam's crew and the op should know the moment and what could happen while out in public.  You could go well they should stay in the hotel but then you earned the right to be there and try and enjoy a sliver of the moment.

I have ran into many celebrities or pro athletes over the years and i always take the less is best approach.  In fact i have had some come to me becaue they could tell i knew who they were but didn't go fan boy and they would say something.  Or i have intentionally said something that the celeb would be mistaken for to have fun with it.

Once i was at a table besides the band Poison and people were actually just leaving them alone and i go up to Deville and i go in with dripping sarcasm and go dude Appetite for Destruction was such a rad cassette and he and the other guys busted lut laughing and he points at me like good one man. 

 

As a self promoting aside, i have one screenplay on this very subject. A celeb and an avg Joe run into each other while he is filming on location and strike up an unusual friendship.

Further proof this dude is as fake as it gets. Biggest phony in football right now. There was an article at the beginning of the whole cam and football to kids thing about how cam had to REPEATEDLY be TOLD by his QB COACH and HEAD COACH to give the ball to KIDS to try and repair his image in the nfl and that as long as he is giving kids footballs he will have something to fall back on when he is criticized for being classless on the field. You guys really think cam seriously gives two shits about those kids? You guys think Cam does charity for any other reason than having a publicist that advices him to do so? Do any of you think most NFL players do charity for any other reason than they are advised to by their publicist? Rivera and the qb coach said they wanted to give back to community. The footballs to kids is their thing, their idea, and something they had to force down cams throat. They legit said after every touchdown they radio'd into his helmet to get him to give it to a kid and he just never would and FINALLY he did it. Now they got him doing it all the damn time to try and make it seem like everyone is just a hater of a phony and a half. Dude can't take to seconds to say hi to some kids but has no problem taking 2 seconds out of the game he is playing when he is supposed to be in his zone to say hi. You idiots defending this phony piece of trash is hilarious and this are his true colors when he's not following the choreography rivera has set up for him

And for the uneducated fools claiming Cam is an introvert. Cam has displayed in every facet of his football existance he is not an introvert. Introverts don't go on the field and start dancing. Introverts don't interview as well as he has. Introverts don't go out of their ways to say controversial statements knowing it will attract even more media attention. Introverts don't rally the guys on the sidelines before a game is over to take a celebratory group dab picks. Calling him an introvert makes you look like an ignorant cam apologist. This dude is not an introvert. He clearly just doesn't give two fugs when his coach isn't in his ear and his publicist isn't in his ear. You don't want to be bothered? Go have your boys get your food to go. You clearly got a posse that is willing to do stuff like say "No pictures."  He's a great QB but damn, I can't believe some of you are that bad of judges at character to not see his phony act for what it is. This isnt about the OP specifically but I get second hand embarrassment seeing how fans act when they see a celebrity in public.  . Trying to sneak and take photos, videos of them just sitting there.

Nah, he not blind is what you should have said. I'm not mad at anyone being who they are. I don't think there is anything wrong with cam turning down fans. What I think is wrong, is being a phony and creating this erroneous narrative that has surrounded cam you know the classic "Poor cam, he gives footballs to kids"  but yet none of you buffoons seem to know WHY he gives football to kids. Because he was told to. Repeatedly. By his coaches. In order to deflect the bashing he would get for being his true self on the field. A showboating narcissist.
