My name is Andy Benoit and I thought Tannehill was better than Newton

Eh he's sorta eating crow.

"I don’t regret my original criticism of Newton. There was only his 2011-14 film to analyze. In those seasons, he was inconsistent."

It's the classic, I'm only wrong because things changed but don't forget I was originally right.

"I hate being wrong, but not as much as I love seeing gifted athletes hone their craft. I admire the hell out of Cam Newton. Players like him are what make professional sports great. "

Me too. If not for the injuries, I think that he'd been just as good last year and this guy would never have been able to write the original piece.

Mr. Benoit, we have received your application to be removed from "the list".  However, we regret to inform you that your application has been denied.  Please contact panther hater customer service line at 1-800-CAM-SALT with any questions.  Thank you.

So true Xerxes. Here's what I would have written to Mr. Benoit, if I would have bothered to register on that site.

Mr. Benoit: If you would have spoken with Panther coaches and players BEFORE you wrote your crappy analysis (or actually watch film properly, or had the ability to), you would have never said what you did in the first place.

Panther fans and staff knew, Cam has progressed every year he's been in the NFL.

Between OC changes and philosophy in 2013; Panther rebuilding and injuries in 2014, and crappy OL in 2012, and 2014; Cam had his challenges, while still putting up great numbers, had his team compete, while absorbing the finer nuances of the QB position.

And as far as Tannehill, and even Luck: Those guys are equally inconsistent, errant and wild, so you were not being fair and consistent. So what does that say about you?

This year: Those "wild throws" are even more meager. Those only happened earlier in the season with a myriad of bad weather games and receiver drops. So your analysis continues to be contrived, unreliable, and unworthy of merit or citation.

That is what I would have written to him, if I wasn't required to register on that site.

Yeah. But if you're going to write something so dramatic, shouldn't you at least know what the back drop was of the QB's year?

Mr. Benoit, either didn't care, or was looking to get a rise out of someone.

So he took a chance (and bad one IMHO comparing him to Tannehill). So  now he looks like the fool!

Live with it. And he knows it, as he feels he'll never overcome this with Panther fans.

Oh, I agree that the guy was just throwing something out there to get a response. he gets paid based on how many read his articles, not how correct he is. My point is that if Cam had been 100% last year, very few people would think that he was getting overpaid. Or put Tannehill (who doesn't suck) anywhere near the same level QB as Cam.
