TDs Arm: Medical perspective, can he still be effective?

I don't think there is a rule stating WHAT TD can wear to protect his arm, so long as it is covered on all surfaces by at least 3/8" rubber or foam...

Wouldn't they just do something like a super hard cast with maybe even an aluminum or carbon fiber shell, coated in padding?

As long as the bones don't have room to move/flex too much, and TD is comfortable, I don't think it will be a big risk. The ONLY concern I would have would be the screws on the plate... them moving and pulling against bone probably won't be too comfortable and could do damage...

I still think TD plays... Absolutely... No issues...

I'm more worried about his effectiveness with a "dominant" arm he has trouble rotating and gripping, seems like things you need to be a good LB in my opinion....

I think that Rivera, McDermott, and Davis know more about what is needed than you....so, we will defer to their judgement.

He may not even needed to have the soft padding by rule since it's going to be more like a brace than a cast. I don't believe whatever devices Gronk and Watt wear on their arms have soft padding. Then again I'm sure TD wouldn't mind having a little padding on whatever he decides to wear to dampen the impact of it getting hit particularly the light and glancing blows that can jar it a bit but you don't feel with some padding.

well we'll know fairly quickly how effective he will be.  Denver will test him early and often,

I keep hearing this, and I'm not so sure of it.

TD is an elite player, going against a sub par offense, I think that they will try to get that unit into a groove moreso than trying to test TD.

As to the pain, I doubt he will be feeling very much, unless he breaks it again....would assume that he will have quite a bit of localized pain killers.
