Short and sweet. All the the anger towards Jake. When he turns it around watch all the posts about how good Jake is. This is just a place for people to gripe. pretty sad no faith.

Im sure I will hear leave. Im sure I will hear all the crap associated with this post, but truth be said. Get a life folks , Jake is a good qb and he will turn it around.

Jake is not a perrinial all pro nor is he specifically skilled in any one phase of the game. Up to a point, Jake had "it" in terms of being able to pull through. Lately "it" seems to be missing.

That said, I don't see a lot of threads saying how good he is coming down the pipeline. What I do hope to see are threads about "bad Jake" going into hibernation.

You won't hear it from me. At his best Jake is a serviceable QB.... he'll get the job done if everything else falls into place. At his worst he makes Rex Grossman look like a perennial Pro Bowl starter.

I do expect him to play better in Atlanta but better won't feed the bulldog.

I think the majority opinion is that if Jake has a good game, then it is only a matter of time until his next colossal stinker, so I doubt that the praise will rain down upon him. I know it will take a while for me to trust him again even if he puts together some good games.

it just really gets old. Everyone in the football league is judged week to week. one week he is great one week they are the worst thing to the franchise. Its going to happen. Good games and bad games. After listening to the real analysist* thats when we should start making judement.

Even if Jake does good against Atlanta, he'll have to do it on a consistant basis which he hasn't been doing at all lately. He's number of bad games keep getting higher and higher. He's extremely inconsistant and I dont think he'll ever be able to be good consistantly. Especially at almost 35 years old. A good QB makes good decisions when under pressure. Jake makes horrible ones.

As the saying goes..'Youre only as good as your last game'. Based on this and Jake's last 2...Dont get me wrong, I have been on this board for a few years now, and have no problem admitting to being a BDJS, but I am now torn. I am torn by the Jake that got us to SB XXXVIII and helped Smitty become the 3rd man to ever win the recieving triple crown, and the Jake that has shown up lately. Gamedays I alternate my '17' jerseys to the color being worn on the field, and my son is in his Delhomme jersey. Jake is my guy. I have defended him to other football fans, even to another Panther fan I know that cant stand him as our QB. But reality has set on me, Jake is shook. Something is off, and he, right now, is not performing up to the standards he has set. I dont expect miracles from the man, but I, at the very least expect the man that is better in the 4th qtr than he is in the first three. Where is the Jake that used to have a top 5 all-time post-season QB rating? Where is the Jake that I/we relied on to make that come-from-behind victory witin our grasp? And who is this guy that has shown up the last 2 times I have expected Jake? I have faith we will see him again, I just dont know when. I hope, no, I pray it is in Atlanta. If I knew we could do without him for 2 games, I kind of want Steve Smith to punch this guy in the head, and hopefully, that would bring the real Jake back...

Honestly, posters' reactions have been as if Jake stood them up for the prom

or drank the last beer on earth.

As Smitty said, I like him as a person and a leader. I want him to do well because then the team does well.

And those posters who make statements, as the one above this, as if they were fact are just plain annoying.

    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.
