Comparing '94 49ers to '15 Panthers

Something to consider:

While I was reading about how Newton should be the MVP (link below), Elliot Harrison compares Cam's season to Steve Young in '94, and with good reason:

Steve Young in '94: 35 TD, 10 INT, 112.8 passer rating, 5.1 yards per rush, 7 rush TD. 
Cam Newton in '15: 35 TD, 10 INT, 99.2 passer rating, 4.8 yards per rush, 10 rush TD.

Some striking resemblances there, pretty cool I guess. My curiosity was piqued, so I decided to compare the 1994 49ers to the 2015 Panthers. Results below.

I always thought Cam reminded me of Steve Young more than any other QB. The similarities are there.

Insane how close Steve's number's were to Cam.  Also as a team, almost identical in terms of stats.  Nice comparison.

Damn, I don't know much about the 94 San Fran team, but they seem like a helluva comparison on the surface
