What will it take...for people to shut up?

this argument has gotten really stupid.

Really it is anyone's personal right to express their opinion about the team they support, whether positive or negative. I agreed with Rhys on the level that the new threads get repetitive, but don't ever think you are going to be able to suppress dissatisfaction among a fanbase or think it is for the greater good of the franchise.

Fans have differing opinions, i get it, and I get that this thread is reactionary to another thread made by SMF. But as of right now, nobody's budging, nobody's been convinced they're wrong, and at this point it's gotten counterproductive.

Really the only person that can make Jake play better is himself. Broncos fans were pretty much uniform in their disapproval of Kyle Orton before he took a snap, before he could prove himself at all, but he played a good game last Sunday and all of a sudden the fans are a little less critical.

If fans don't have a say in the decision making process, they are not obligated at all to cheer if it is against their beliefs.

I agree no one should ? another's fandom. We all love the Panther how we express that is who we are. Diffrent types make up nation and you need each one too make it last.

Yep, 4 or 5 pages back I tried to end it, saying we had reached an impasse on the subject but it continued on and I felt obligated to continue to post since I started the thread :D

Your a f'n idiot. You have no responabilty so you can say money is no a issue.

? if you go to a Ufc fight and the fighter you went to see comes out not in shape and gets his ass beat in the 1st round. You don't feel shitty about the 100 or so dollar you spent to see him? If not then your a dumbass. This is how I felt during that game last Sunday.

I spent 80 bucks which equals about 12 hours of work to go to that game on Sunday. Not to mention 7 dollar beers. Don't pretend to know me. But I was willing to spend that money for the atmosphere and emotional part of the game. If that wasn't important I would have watched it on TV. The boos for Jake made me cringe. As for the UFC fighter, if I really cared for his success I wouldn't boo him as he got his ass kicked. I've accepted the fact that you would, and it makes no sense to me. That's all.

So you might as well been at a horse race. I can invite a bunch of friends too the house and watch the game like I would have done at the BOA. That's why I go. I don't care about the atmosphere. I care that the Panthers go out and Kick sombody ass. Watching that game and then having too deal with the traffic was double jepordy. I should have stayed at home where I could cuss and throw thing in my game room.:mad2::mad2:

I'm gonna say this and you fans that only live in Black and Blue areas need to realize that the ONLY reason other teams fans (non-NFC S. obviously) have a negative opinion of the Panthers is because of our QB. This has been the sentiment long before the Arizona game and of course, it's only gotten worse. So all of you who complain we don't get any respect, we actually do get a LOT of respect out here on the west coast but that always comes after they mention how bad Jake is. Otherwise, they never have ANYTHING else negative to say about the team. I personally have never disliked Jake's performances up until the last 2 games. I've had enough.

You can't let two games change everything. Remember when Peyton Manning had a few years where he just stunk it up in the first game of the playoffs? Those short term gut reactions arent fair

Yeah I know but remember that Peyton comes from pedigree or a good football lineage, he was great when he was in college. We all knew he'd be a great player. He definitely wasn't near or past his prime so we could give him the benefit of a doubt for his future. Jake just doesn't have any of those things on his side.

Fair. I am worried the last to games is just because Jake is past his prime. If that's the case we can't ride him into the ground. However, there were two weeks between his solid performance against New Orleans and the Arizona nightmare. There's no way his talent just disappeared in that short period of time. At least I really hope not.

Whatever the case may be...Jake needs to get his head straight, pure and simple, or he is done.

    • I didn't say much bigger. Watch the highlights I linked. Bryce doesn't have the arm strength and/or talent to make the vast majority of the throws Mac made in that video.
    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
