D'Angelo Wlliams Sorta Bad Mouthing, Not Giving Cam Credit; A Bit Salty?

Everyone in here ripping DeAngelo were probably the first people cheering when he'd score a touchdown...He put in several good years here in Charlotte and once he began to be banged up and got paid, maybe his effort wasn't the best. That concern isn't exclusive to him...

Having said that, if he doesn't want to give Cam all the credit in the world, who cares? It's almost like asking current college football coaches about the top 25 knowing damn well they watched one game and one game only and expecting them to fill out a reasonable ballot. From what I see on social media, he's still great with Panthers fans and doesn't act like his time here never happened.

I hear ya.

But, don't you think it was fair for them to ask him about Cam Newton while he played with the Panthers, since he's in the Superbowl; they're there in San Fran for it (Boomer and Carton, and presumably D'Angelo), and Newton's going to be the most likely MVP?

That wasn't asking too much IMO.

It was almost like they had to pull anything positive from his, as if he really didn't want to talk about him.

That could be construed as being salty to many.

I don't know a single person who had a positive in-person experience with Williams when they met him. He was an asshole to everyone. He's a terrible, Trump-like, garbage person.

This. I remember seeing a kid at fan fest holding out a pink breast cancer awareness headband and asking him to sign it. He looked the kid in the face and said, "I don't sign autographs man." Not even kidding.

Yeah of course it's fair that they asked and he's probably a dummy if he was blindsided by it. It is a bit surprising that he didn't just give us the same old jock talk we get from most guys, you know the old "Well, you know Cam has transformed his game from his rookie year, etc etc" but he didn't.

I guess I'm just of the mindset that I really don't care what any ex-players think or expect them to comment on what the team has done this year, especially if they're still in the league. And if he's salty, then that's a D-Will problem and he can watch the Super Bowl from the couch just like I will.

So you're saying there are very few of those people considering that rarely happened..

Smith and Moose are the only non QBs with more TDs than him.

But yea, he's angry. Forget him.

Sounds like someone after a bad break-up doing their best not to trash the ex while other people are asking questions and digging.

Just let it go. He's trying to move on with the new and the hosts were picking at his scabs trying to see if they could get something out of him based on that bad break up.

I hope he does well in Pittsburgh. He was mighty good here but it didn't work out in the end -- money, egos, whatever. Best of luck to him, we're doing fine, he's doing fine.
