D'Angelo Wlliams Sorta Bad Mouthing, Not Giving Cam Credit; A Bit Salty?

I know a lot of Panther fans like or dislike D'Angelo. But the guys a character (aka weird one) for sure.

I was surprised to catch him on the Boomer And Carton Show in NY-via San Fran and/the Superbowl-at 7:22 am EST this morning (He was on about 10-15 min, whence I caught it), while eating breakfast.

So after speaking about Pittsburgh, the Cincy playoff game/controversy, and the AFC; they asked him about Cam Newton.

First he say's: 'Well, it's the receivers. They've been in the system for a while; so the balls coming out of his hands on time. He doesn't have to wait on them. That's what I see'. Okay. That sounds fine. Right?

So after speaking about something else for a while, they came back to Cam.

First he downplays Cam, then says: 'Cam's only had one good year (talking about this year)'. So when Boomer says, what about his Rookie year. He had a phenomenal Rookie year. D'Angelo retorts and says 'yeah, but did we win'!?. I guess he forgot about Cam's 2013 when the team was 12-4 (mind you, how hard he fought last year to make the playoff's, even if D'Angelo wasn't there).

He says 'Peyton been it doing for a while. Cam hasn't'. He also earlier talked about how 'Cam could be a game manager, and the defense can carry that team (mind you all the high scoring games the teams been involved in, and the numbers Cam has put up)'. Later he admits, he only caught a few Panther games (and I'm sure he didn't watch them in their entirety, based of his latter comments). He says he's a Pittsburgh Steeler now, and not a former Panther (paraphrase) when asked to talk more about the Panthers.

He was very salty during the interview, with out being rude. Maybe it's just his personality? He even challenged the host-Carton that he didn't watch the Steelers (presumably cause he-D'Angelo was so good) when the co-host asked him if he was going to retire, instead of simply answering the question. He was being very passive aggressive there, and throughout the interview IMO.

Unless it's just his personality: D'Angelo wasn't straight out hating. But Esiason, was literally begging for some positive or interesting tidbits on Cam (since he played with him-duh), and D'Angelo didn't bite. No real perspective or insight at all. Again; maybe it's his personality? Or maybe he felt he wasn't best utilized in the read option (or Cam and Stewart took yards away from his since Newton's arrival). Who knows!? And of course, he got cut by Dave Gettleman, etc.. I don't know.

It was nothing the national press would report. But it was surrrreee interesting (something Panther fans would notice, and/or see through), and a bit surreal.

Even Steve Smith has sounded better during recent interviews regarding Panther related questions (while Ole #89, had more to gripe about; had a better Panther career than D'Angeolo). After all, it is the Superbowl. And the Panthers and Cam Newton are in it. You're going to be asked. Go figure?

I think the Panthers could of handled DWill's Mom passing better and they realize that. However, I think DWill quit on this team a year or two ago. He go down on first contact. I think cutting him helped this offense.

He lost something like 15#s after being cut. He looked like a different RB this year for Steelers. Sorry if your a DWill fan but I don't think much of him anymore. His interview just reinforces it.
