What will it take?

It's one game into the season. He'll bounce back, he's too good to be this bad.

Even when Jake "bounces back", he is still a below average quarterback. He is still the terribly inaccurate QB who doesn't know when to throw the ball away and when to take a sack.

Jake is no longer capable of putting up 300 yards, probably even 220+. Stick a fork in him, he's DONE.

Truth hurts. If you support the team you support the players through thick or thin.

There's a difference between supporting your team, and being critical of it's mistakes. I'm not speaking in terms of Jake when I say that because Jake is our only option right now (Moore slurpers, you shush). But it sounds like you so indeed support them no matter what, and don't have an ounce of criticism in your body. That's fine if you want to be that much of a homer, but don't rag on people who LOVE the team but dislike a player or a choice the organization makes. That is a perfectly reasonable thing to do. What you do is called blind loyalty.

I mean, to think...you supported Deshaun Foster starting over DeAngelo. You, sir, are a saint.

WOW, one thing I want is for people to STOP living in the goddamn past. What Jake accomplished in 2003-2008 means diddly poo, face REAAALLLIIITTTTYYYY you Joke Delhomme apologists.

Last week is the past as well as is the arizona game of last years playoffs. Maybe you should practice what you preach and see what happens this week

Okay, so if I put them behind me, my opinion of Jake is supposed change, and I should expect a decent game from him? Sorry, but I've seen no signs that this is gonna get ANY better.

So what you are really saying is that we should only use past performance as an indicator of what may happen in the future if it supports your argument. I say instead we look at the big picture.

While it is certainly possible that Jake may never repeat his numerous good performances, It is also possible that he will never repeat his bad ones either. Both of these scenarios are unlikely.

I say instead lets see what he does over the next few games that he will be most likely starting, and make an informed decision as the season goes on.

Contrary to what some people here seem to think, Overall Jake has been good more often than not. This is evidenced by the fact that the team has a winning record when he has started, and why the teams ownership, coaching staff, and players are all supportive of him.

How do you know what I think or what I believe. Because I don't come on a message board read by many folks including players and their families and trash the quarterback doesn't mean I don't feel upset or angry about how he played. Every game I go to I spend over 250 dollars to see. You really believe I like throwing my money away to see us lay a total egg. So far I have gone to 3 games and saw nothing worth the 750 dollars I spent.

The reality is that I have really been angry and upset about how the whole team has played and that certainly includes Jake. I just am intelligent enough to know that it takes a team to lose or win and a lot of players had a hand in it. I also realize that when I pay for PSLs I go to the game win or lose and support the team whether they play well or not. I didn't even come on here for 2 days because I realized that anything I said would be emotional and not very accurate or objective.

Look at my posts, I am loyal to the team and it's players. Does that mean I like how they how they played or what they did? It is like a family. You can love your family but not like their actions. Still you don't trash them especially in public. Don't mistake the fact that because I don't make histrionic juvenile diatribes about how the team or certain players suck, it suggests I am blindly loyal or satisfied with their play. I knew that this year would be difficult and predicted we would be 0-3 or 1-2 at the bye.

Feel free to speak for yourself but don't even presume to know anything about what I think or don't think.

Understandable. But, I wouldn't put the fact our team has a winning record when he has started on his part, sure he has won us a few games, but It's largely because he has a bailout system in Steve Smith, and he's usually had a pretty good rushing attack along him. I think the games Jake has "won" for us are less than the games he's lost for us. (IE. Eagles game )

If that were true then the team would have won games just fine without him there losing them more than he wins them. But they didnt

There's also a difference between supporting your team and being fed up with this soft, mediocre joke of a program that we've turned into. I root for the Panthers just as hard as ever, but I have no faith in them. They have a ton of talent that is being wasted by a staff that is a decade behind the times.

Who are you to be able to evaluate a professional football staff? Have you ever coached at any level? Have you played at any level beyond high school. The problem is you post things with no knowledge of what you speak.

Bogus wise man !!!

That reminds of the arguement that you cant support wars if you have never served. If you want to go to war why dont you join the military etc... :dupe:

You dont have to be a coach to see the program sucks.

Again you always talk down people who disagree with you.
