What will it take?

While they're FINALLY in the minority, there are STILL plenty of Jake slurpers on the Huddle that put their love of Jake Delhomme before their love of the Carolina Panthers. What will it take for even they to finally wake up? Another stinker against the Falcons? An embarrassing loss to the Cowboys? What? Just how many more times must this guy humiliate himself before you'll quit rooting for him to do it more often?

I'm going to make a prediction: Jake will look mediocre next week with maybe 2 touchdowns made by Smith bailing him out on poor throws and 2 interceptions and a fumble and we might eek out a win. His mediocrity is going to make the Jake slurpers crap their pants in glee and go nuts preaching to us next week about how "JAKE'S BACK BABY! SUPER BOWL BOUND!!!" if we win.

His mediocrity will make him look like Tom Brady in comparison to how he's played in calendar year 2009, so they'll go nuts.

I'm calling this now.

Maybe we don't bail after the first game. Maybe because we still love the Carolina Panthers and he is our starting quarterback, we don't toss him away like you do. Maybe we remember that we still went 12-4 with him while in 2007 we went 5-8 without him.

Maybe some of us aren't hysterical sky is falling cry babies like those who bail after one 16th of the season is over..

WOW, one thing I want is for people to STOP living in the goddamn past. What Jake accomplished in 2003-2008 means diddly poo, face REAAALLLIIITTTTYYYY you Joke Delhomme apologists.

Now don't say that. I've been thinking we should find a way to go sign John Elway out of retirement. After all, didn't he win two Super Bowls in the late '90s????? I rest my case!
