Lol! We already got a Thompson for that. The sad thing is, Shaq was our FIRST ROUND PICK. It's not like he was our 6th. How does this guy miss that? Not a bad idea, just a year late. I think we will stop being overlooked soon though. Just thought this was a bit comical. Besides, I'm VERY excited about Coleman/Boston for the future.

A Harper replacement wouldn't be a bad first pick at all. Or, ideally, a Weddle replacement after we sign him.

Would we spend a first rounder on a rookie safety and then give him big minutes?  Seems like our coaches prefer grizzled veterans if possible at that position.

The emergence of Coleman this year when everyone had Boston has the starting FS shows that you can never have too much of a good thing, if a safety is BPA in round one, then that's who'll be drafted

I wouldn't mind the pick for safety, but we got TDs eventual replacement. It will all depend on who falls and who the best player is. DE will likely get the nod for 1st pick, maybe CB.

I think first pick will be a DE.  Johnson and Allen are both as good as gone.

I don't doubt that at all. I know Gettleman's philosophy, and it ROCKS!!! I was just pointing out that the writer seemed to not realize that's what we planned on doing with Shaq.

the coaching staff prefers people who are in the right place and play their position properly. rookies rarely do that.

I've seen this Thompson rated as low as a 4th rounder. Can't see him as BPA at the end of round one.

Shaq is not TD's replacement. He's a starter opposite of him. When TD goes we only have Klein to step in.

Yeah drafting a safety specifically to move to LB seems like a very strange thing to mock us doing. If we draft an S I'm sure he'll play S.
