I'll be watching with my wife, but no more than she knows about Football, or sports in general for that matter.  It will be same as watching it alone.

Same, and that's the way I like it.  She asked if we should throw a SB party, and I said hell naw.  I don't want any distractions, and I usually make people feel uncomfortable because I act the same at my house watching, as I do at the game... other than constantly yelling on defense

Wow. Just, wow. I thought I was the only weird person who likes to watch Panther games alone. (Unless I'm at the home games.) There are times when I get so wound up I go to the garage & listen to the game on the radio. I text back & forth all game with my son. I stay away from the huddle lol. But because it's the Super Bowl this time I'd like to run into the street & celebrate with other people. That won't happen on my quiet street. :( But I may run outside screaming anyway. :)

So let me get this straight...

You'd (some of you) rather watch the game alone because you can't control your mouth, stand someone commenting on a commercial, tolerate someone who can't name all 53, likes another team, or might sneeze at the wrong time?

Some of you fuggers need to find a way to put this poo into perspective.

I can't be at the game and Ill be damned if Im not going to have someone to scream with, high five, and hug when we take this one down.  I guess you'll chest bump your Newton FatHead...

I will.  Reason?  I do not want to entertain or pretend to be interested in what some fair-weather, wagon-loading, "fan" who has no friggin idea of the hard draft research, emotional sacrifice, and professional compromise I have put into that moment--the pinnacle of fandom, an event that rivals only the births of my 2 boys (now that they are Panther fans) and my marriage to my wonderful wife.  Nobody is going to skip into my moment with brand-spanking new Panther gear from Penney's because it is the next social thingy in town and pretend to sit as my equal on a sofa and make ill-timed comments about players whose name and complete professional biography he does not know.   If you are there for the food and the commercials, you are going to my hell and I will gladly send you there if you as much as think about depriving me of one second of this climactic moment by breathing the same air I am breathing--air only intended for those who are true and blue Panther fans and have been since before October----1995.

Yes!  Finally. I'm screenshoting this. My wife, huge fan, but was asking if I wanted to go hang out with people. These were my thoughts, just not so clearly stated.

I really don't know if I can handle people who are just watching socially while I have so much invested. I only have two other die hard Panther fan friends here in Virginia Beach, and I know for a fact my roommates and some other friends would love to try to instigate me during the game, even though they want the Panthers to win for the most part.  They know what this means to me since they used to make fun of me all the way back to 2010.

Might be the first time I watch a SB by myself, since I watch every panthers game alone I don't want to jinx it. Plus if god forbid the panthers lose I'm gonna have a total meltdown, I don't want nobody around.

...me too bro...its a personal affair.
