Shula proved me wrong. Philly has defined his role, and Ginn is a real, play-making WR.

I was wrong about the WR group. Way off. Harshly called the group a bunch of scrubs.

Ive been wrong before, and during this lifetime, I'll be wrong some more. Never have I been afraid to admit when I'm wrong, though.

In the spirit of admitting our wrongs, let me eat my crow for Philly Brown.  I called him garbage and demanded he be cut during camp when he's couldn't catch a cold.  I guess he knew how to get all the drops out in preseason because he's been clutch.

I've been drinking, sentiment made me pie, and title made me want to run through a wall.  1 week to go, and 90% of NFL fans envy us right now.  Win or lose, we are fuging lucky to have a super bowl caliber team that we can also be proud of off the field as well.  Add in the fact that I can bet we don't have a "super bowl winning Darren Sharper" roaming our sidelines, and I can rest easy at night knowing regardless of color, who is really wearing the white hats in the super bowl.

Last season I always thought Shulas problem was trying to implement this offense behind a terrible O-line and that we should have been trying to use quicker plays to negate this, maybe he should but turns out the offense system he was using wasnt the problem, once he got the pieces he needed, and a fully healthy QB, the points started to rack up

I hate to say I told you so, but....

You went way overboard, bro, in the entirely opposite direction.  I think that Philly is not as good as you believed that he was, but nor is he as bad as I believed that he was.  Regardless, he has been a good role player on our run to a championship.

What is your idea of what I believed he was?

You implied that he was the greatest thing since sliced bread in so many of your posts, but you did dial it back once the action started.

But this is not a rehash thread, it's about me and anyone else admitting that Shula has been mostly great this season, and that our receiving corps (including Philly Brown) has met its call.

Here you have a decent thread with different opinions, all backed up with legitimate reasons, and a few non contributing whiners that get butt hurt any time someone has the audacity to suggest that Shula is a big question mark. Of course Shula will be awesome, 'cause Belichick!

Notice how they take funny little jabs at me, crying for attention and validation. Sad really.

It goes from Shula being a huge question mark to "OMG you said Shula is the worst OC in history and has no chance of success!"

Mainly due to lack of reading comprehension skills, so I forgive it.

I never said or meant to imply anything about him being much any better than a 3rd option as WR. You were convinced he was purely a "JAG" who wouldn't make other team's rosters... I still think he'll continue to improve.

I don't remember saying that he wouldn't make another team's roster. I did say that I didn't believe that teams would actually put in a waiver claim for him if he were cut. I also said that he would not start on any other team in the league---which I still believe--but perhaps he has had enough modest success whereby someone would actually put in a waiver claim if he were put on the market.

BTW, JAGs have their place too, unless they're just horrible.

Your love for Philly is really legendary on the Huddle, but, like I said, you pulled back on the reigns quite a bit when it really became clear that Philly wasn't D-Jax or T.Y. Hilton (for example).

I hope Philly continues to improve, but even if doesn't he is the type of WR who can make defenses pay if they forget about him. If he can just learn or figure out a way to get off the line quicker from more physical defensive backs, he would raise his stock substantially. He is good at misdirection plays like a reverse, but his bread and butter comes when he gets behind the defense.
