I still remember how everyone was upset when he was drafted because he was too big to play safety and no one wanted a swing position player in the first round.

I remember that too.  Panthers needed a LB and Derrick Johnson slid down to them.  I thought for sure that would be the pick  At the time I thought it was a head scratcher.  Thank God it went the way it did.

Beyond being the best Panther to take the field, dude is just as special off the field.

Complete class act.

One day after training camp after signing hundreds of autographs my 8 year old little girl said "Thomas,  don't forget about me!"  he looked her way and said "don't worry, I wouldn't forget about you."  and came over and gave her his autograph. That moment was so special to her and it was the 1st time she met and talked Panther.  Anytime we have people come over to watch the game she makes sure to show them that she got his autograph.

I went on and told her his story and how he never gave up even when the odds were against him.  She took that to heart and anytime her homework or dance or whatever she is doing gets hard she uses Thomas story of never giving up to motivate her to keep going.

It's amazing how this dude has impacted her life by such a small interaction and an incredible story of resilience.

Yeah... all these people talking about Peyton getting another ring, blah, blah...

There's not a man in the NFL that deserves it more than TD does.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking after reading that article.  This is the year of respect.  TD had a good year after the third ACL injury and he didnt even win comeback player of the year.  Peyton won it, which yes was amazing but TD wasn't even considered.  He didn't win much of anything until the Walter Payton man of the year award last year.  It's time he earned respect.  Putting that ring on should get him that.
