I love how you try to claim Napa as North Bay.... you know damn good and well its more Central Valley!!!

That being said if y'all come please make it out of the city at least once. Sonoma is prettier than Napa but you'll have a good time either way. If you can make it to the wineries do... its the most WASPy thing you'll ever do in your life but that doesn't mean its not amazing.

However if you want to see something beautiful and don't want to venture too far from the city hit up Point Reyes... walk down to the Light House. Its not only breathtaking but there is a chance you'll see Whales and Elephant Seals.

And if its your first time to the City. Do yourself a favor and Visit the Rock (get your tickets in advance it saves you hassle) its a cool place to visit they have night and day tours which are slightly different.... but the bonus on this is you get to see the city from the Bay and its pretty bad ass.

Go eat in China Town its cheap and great.

I'm staying in Sunnyvale - so it will be easy (ish) to get to the stadium for me.  I've got a rental car which I assume will only be useful for getting me to the airport to Sunnyvale and back (although I did get a parking pass to the stadium - I'm a tad less than 6 miles away).

So anyway - I arrive Friday morning and want to do a little sightseeing before heading to Sunnyvale by around dinner-time so I can take my hostess out to dinner.  Do you have any recommendations on what might be good to try to see knowing where I am coming from and where I am going to end up in the evening?  I will have the car and I know parking will be non-existent, but I'm going to have to figure it out.  Where is the airport in relation to your different areas?  I toyed with just leaving the car at the airport and picking it up later when I'm done - don't know if that's an option though with the rental place.  .

And on Saturday, when I head back into SF - I'm toying with what to do - and know I'll be taking the trains (my hostess has given me suggestions that I haven't absorbed yet).  Thought about hitting up the touristy football related things like Superbowl City and maybe NFL Experience (is that in the same area).  I went to the Experience in Houston and it was pretty lame (IMO), but if you're going to a Superbowl you should at least do some of the Superbowl activities.  Then I may head to the Roaring Riot thing.  What else is there to see in that area?

I'm still figuring things out .....

If you're going to go into the City on Saturday it doesn't mean you can't go before there is enough there to keep you busy and you won't even come close to seeing it all (which is weird because area wise its small)

However if you want to do something other than SF may I suggest heading south to Santa Cruz or Monterey... can't really lose with those two.

I'm going to the game, coming from Texas. Would love to hook up and drink with some of you, I'm traveling alone. What do you all plan to do pre game and post game? I'm 3 miles away from the stadium, not getting a car I'll just walk anywhere I want to go close.

Will you be in SF at all or will you just be staying in the South Bay for your whole trip?

Staying 5 miles south of the stadium

you're going to be very close to where I live. I'll be at St Johns Bar & Grill for the game, with friends and co-workers. they have a great game atmosphere, decent food, and Pliney on tap. we're getting there at lunch time to stake our claim. if anyone's looking for a good sports bar to watch the game, doesn't get much better in the South Bay.

Faultline Brewery is another option, just a block away from St Johns. Better food, full bar, little more upscale, not as many TVs, probably won't be as rowdy.
