Cam texted Oher year ago "I need you here"

Just a tidbit from Cams press conference, says he texted Big Mike a year ago and said " I need you in Charlotte". He then followed up when asked about it "there is a difference between wanting and needing, I needed him here". The difference that guy has made has paid off in spades. Guess he was sick of getting killed with B.B defending his blind side, decided to take it into his own hands.

I love all the comments calling for the NFL to punish Cam for tampering. I have never seen so much salt in my life from 31 fanbases.

There is a fine line between salt and the cold icy fingers of reality creeping in that Cam is a fuggin beast that is about to rule this league with an iron fist.

Just now, Mr. Scot said:

The day we signed Oher, there were cries of "worse than Bell".

Nobody says that these days.

I was saying that he HAD to be better than Bell.  But, it was not a ringing endorsement.  Boy was I wrong.

Also....give me back my T.  haha

Here's a quote and article:

Quote

Newton said today that he started work on Oher a year ago, before free agency officially started, urging him to consider signing with the Panthers. Newton said his pitch to Oher was the hardest he’s ever worked on trying to convince a player to sign with the Panthers.

“With the free agent pool, I’ve sent texts out before, called guys and said, ‘We’d love for you to be part of the team.’ But Mike was different,” Newton said. “I didn’t say, ‘I want you to be here.’ It was, ‘I need you.’ That’s different. Want and need are two different words, and that’s what I used in that text, along with other explicit words before the ‘need.’ And I think he got the feeling from that.”

Cam, spoke to his Brother Cecil, a former Baltimore Raven (where Oher played) as well.

Guys lobby with each other all the time... absolutely absurd. How many times do we hear "So-and-so was talking to so-and-so at the Pro Bowl about how they need to come to their team"?

    • After being in misery for years now, lets make believe that good things could happen to us.  Imagine a future where Bruce Young continued to develop, and became a possible franchise QB again for us. We Win a couple more games, and show progress and become more fun to watch. We end up with a top 10 pick, Morgan has a great draft after having selections in round 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 7, 7, 7. Cap is in solid position with Young under rookie contact for the next three years. We have pieces in place to compete in a weak division, and our team is young and talented, with a head coach who is getting better with experience. We have a team who is competing for a playoff spot in 2025.  Maybe it is a dream, maybe this will age like milk, maybe I’ve started drinking early and am giddy that I’ll be doing absolutely nothing tomorrow except relaxing, eating great food with people I love, and getting to watch good ole American football.  Happy Thanksgiving Suckas
    • Red herring, we’re talking about arm strength not the height or tippy toes.  What’s really over the top is your obsession over his height
    • Didn't Teddy have DJ Moore, CMC, Chris Samuels and Robbie Anderson in that game? Just saying.
