If the Panthers win SB50, they will become the new Villians of the NFL

Instead of being seen as the underdog heroes of an expansion franchise capturing its first Super Bowl, the Carolina Panthers will be viewed largely as Villians if they get the win on Feb 7th. 

 

Of course we as fans of this team view our guys as the heroes. We know the type of character our players have, the true sportsman quality, hard nosed physical style of play we have become accustomed to, but to most nation wide, we are largely an unknown. I mean how many times this year alone can you remember the media, opposing fans or any one else in general get something completely wrong about our team? Probably a lot right. Which brings me to my point. 

We will be hated and seen as Villians if we win because of three big reasons.

1. We will have shown how wrong the sports media has been about Cam and our team in general the last 5 years. They look terribly bad and now have to back track years of "hot takes" because we were doubted all year and they HAVE to talk about us. Quick example. Watch the NFLN "Around the NFL" guys. Each week they talk about Bold predictions then recap the games the following Monday. Every week you see the begrudging attitude they've had to us continuously winning week after week. They were dumbfounded. Lots of "how are they doing this?!?" "Shouldn't they suck?" Etc. 

 

2. We will have robbed NFL golden boy Peyton Manning a chance to ride off into the sunset with one last SB victory to call it a career(This is a big point and will led into my next one.) More and more we are hearing reports Peyton is viewing this as his last game ever. Peyton is pretty much universily loved/respected around the NFL which is completely justified. 5 time MVP, arguably the best regular season QB of all time. True master of the game. With that love and respect will bring distain to the opposition of such a goal. We are the final boss that stands in front of Peyton and the NFL happy ending. 

 

3. White vs. Black. It's nearly impossible to argue racism doesn't still exist in our society today. We as a fan base have had the all to unfortunate pleasure of witnessing this racism because of our QB. I mean, the Titans forum has a 100 page anti cam thread showcasing who can be more thinly veiled racist, it's quite a feat. If you aren't a Carolina or Denver fan you won't be rooting for the team but for players. Like I said previously Peyton is universily loved. This will cause a lot of casual observers or people with out a dog to pull for Peyton. Let's not kid ourselves, a good majority of casuals will being pulling for Peyton because he is white and rooting against Newton because he is black. If we win this will harbor resentment that will not leave regardless of how good a person Cam is or how deserving he will have been throughout the year to win the SB. 

 

With all that being said being viewed as the villian isn't a bad thing. This will continuously give us that chip on our shoulder we have had throughout this season which is good. We also will know in our heart of hearts we are the good guys who get looked at as bad so every one else feels better about themselves. Basically if we win we become The Dark Knights of the NFL. The team the NFL deserves but doesn't need right now. So they will hunt us, hate us, and envy our success. But by God boys it will be quite enjoyable from the inside looking out, so prepare yourselves to wear your Cowl from here on out!

After the first week of the season when all us Panther fans gave them poo about saying the Jags would light our defense up they have had that salt towards us. It's funny people will be more upset about someone calling them out when they are wrong than the fact they were so horribly wrong

Villains don't give footballs to children.

Our roster is loaded with high character guys. Anybody wanna try and make guys like Thomas Davis and Greg Olsen come off as evil?  Good luck with that.

We're only villains to teams we beat and people who either aren't paying attention or are too dumb or blind to see what's real.

Disagree.

 

The media is coming around. They always do with a winner.

The youth loves Cam and the Panthers.

Sure, there will be haters as there always is with success, but the majority of people around the league respect what Carolina is doing and recognize that they are having a lot of fun in the process.

Did you read the post? Of course we don't see our guys as Villians. 

 

Everyone else out side of the Carolinas? They will see Cam and a bunch of thugs regardless if that's the truth or not. 

Your last paragraph was my point.
