Panthers Head Coach....Jeff Davidson??

the only problem with everyones assessment is that these are questions you have with every coach that has never been Head Coach. Anytime a coach goes from OC or DC to HC, these questions come up. Thats going to come up every time. i still think its worth a shot because he has worked with the offense.

i watched Inside the NFL on showtime and Warren Sapp asked Cowher point blank if he was coming back. He didnt say yes or no. meaning if he didnt wanted to he would have said so, but he doesn't want to be bombarded. It is also known that he would want more control than just head coach, so more than likely not only Fox, but Hurney would get the boot as well if Cowher came. so idk.

this would be perfect! hurney and fox in one swing of the ax! I LIKE IT!

Who knows what happens behind closed doors or what passes on the microphone between Davidson and Fox on game day.

But this has been discussed several times and Fox has been asked this question directly before. His response was that he has input into the gameplan because that is his job. But he hires coordinators to do the job and has to rely on them to do what they are hired to do. He reinterated that both Davidson and Meeks make the specific calls on game day.

Seems pretty clear to me that if our offense is faltering it is Davidson not Fox at fault. Still I don't think that Davidson is doing a bad job. His performance last year was one of the best if not the best offensive showing in our franchise history. 3rd in rushing, 10th overall.

This message board is full of hysterics.

If not for you and Mr.Scot, I might have deleted my account to this forum.

Seriously, people? Half this organizaton's problem is that we either hold on to people too long, or we hand the ball over to an unproven. Yes, we've brought up some GREAT talent, but just because he's already in house doesn't mean he deserves a future HC look. Now, if we can put together a few years of good records and good offense, then yeah...he'll get talk, just like the coord. for the NYG, Dallas, etc. have. But he's nowhere NEAR ready to even be mentioned for the future HC here.
