Gettleman has said the first thing an organization needs is a franchise qb. Whether he would have viewed Cam as that is up for debate. Gettleman likes true football players. Cam obviously fits that mold but who knows. 

 

I wouldnt say say for certain that he wouldn't have taken Cam.

Plus Cam fits the "big men help you to compete" line of thinking Gman has since Cam is basically a hog mollie of QBs

While definitely a nice gesture, it's not quite the whole organization. He's taking all the full-time staff. But Purrcussion isn't going (TopCats are), and some other gameday type staff aren't going. Do believe they got the option to purchase tickets, though.

I dont like your definition.  Ive been to 10 regular season games, 2 postseason, and 2 worthless preseason games, fanfest, and training camp.  I want to go to the super bowl so bad.  I want a good letter from the psl lottery tomorrow.  Just make it so.

I was an intern with the Panthers during the '03 season. After beating Philly, Mr. Richardson personally visited every office in the stadium to inform employees that he was footing the bill to send everyone plus one guest each to Houston for the game. We flew to Houston Thursday and back to Charlotte Monday. Included in the trip were multiple parties (welcome party, pregame party, postgame party), the NFL experience, a trip to NASA, and tickets to the game. It was a trip for which I will always be thankful and one which made me quickly look past all the "JR is wrecking this team because he just cares about money" posts during the CBA negotiations and 2010 season.

I'm not sure about that. I think all "full-time" employees with the team were offered the opportunity, but I can't say for sure.

In 2003 we had people selling authentic Panther gear on a few corners here in Statesville. Struck up a conversation with one of them & turned out he was an accountant with the Panther organization. He said they offered tickets or a setup with Panthers merchandise to sell. He took the merchandise gig, trying to make extra money to put his daughter through college. He expected to clear a few thousand dollars. It worked because he sold out days before the game. No, I'm not 100% sure his story was true but his merchandise was authentic because the Statesville police were checking everyone with a roadside stand.
