Tre Boss 10 looked real good out there.

I know this isn't a huge surprise to a lot of people, but the guy looked great in place of 30 shades of gray.  What was the word on his injury anyway? Was it just an eye cut or something else?  Anyway I need to see PT for this kiddo.  I don't have any pff grades or anything but he looked good and he's much quicker than I remember.   I appreciate Harper I really do, but I think Tre might deserve starting spot very soon if not now.  Also he and Shaq looked great on the field together.  What do y'all think.

I totally agree. To me, Boston always pops when he's out there. He's always around the ball, making plays. I think the D will be that much better if he could step in and be that young, athletic safety -- pretty much the complete opposite of Ol' Silverback.

Shaq needs to be on the field more, somehow, someway. Scheme be damned.   That dude is a whole gear faster than all the other guys out there. He's gonna be a real baller. Honestly the D didn't skip a beat when TD and Harper went out. Same when Luke was out earlier this year.  That speaks volumes.

We're not going to change our scheme but as far as matchups go in this game I bet we'll have our base 4-3 in for most of the game. Broncos are a run based offense and use a lot of TE's so we won't need our nickel or buffalo packages as much as against a team like the Cards or Patriots if they had won. We really matchup extremely well against the Broncos on both sides of the ball. I'm trying my hardest to not overlook them but I'm less concerned about beating the Broncos than I was before the Cards and Hawks games.

It's really hard to complain about anything going on with this team these days...but I think Harper is probably the biggest liability that we have out there. He's too slow. Fortunately I don't think it's going to really matter for the Super Bowl. Mannings arm is shot to hell. Look at Peyton throw, then look at Cam throw....LOL

Tre has youth going for him. He can do things that Harper can't. Harper has experience going for him. He will put himself, and others, in position to make plays.

Tre has been getting playing time. Especially during obvious passing downs. So he has still gotten his reps. Harper is better in the run game, which Denver uses quite a bit. But Tre is better in coverage, and the Broncs use that 2 TE set pretty often.

They both have positives. They both have negatives. BUT...Tre looked real good yesterday. He may be ready to step in. Although Harper is a more physical presence.

So in summation. They both will continue to play situationally. Or as close as we can against Peyton.

I agree. Trying to be as non-homerific as possible, I really think Denver is in trouble. I don't really think it matters who the fug you put out there right about now. I've been trying to think about this, and I can't come up with 1 team that I can remember in my almost 30 years of watching football, that could beat that team that played on Sunday. That was some all time great type poo.

I agree with all you guys.  I also started thinking yesterday, we drafted Shaq to replace td but also to play in specific packages.  I love how he was used against Fitz in the game.  Makes me think this was the plan all along, and it was genius to do it now because the cards would have had little to no tape on Shaq being utilized that way.

I think Finnegan and McClain are without a doubt bigger liabilities than Harper. Harper's been solid all season, despite his athletic limitations.

You know what, you're absolutely right. I forgot about McClain. Finnegan is ok in my book.

    • I don't really like the phrase, "moral victory". I get what's meant by it, but does that mean that if you do the opposite (play poorly but win) it's an immoral victory? 🤔
    • I blame Evero because he is overrated. Vance Joseph created the defense in Denver that he took credit for. Wilks ran the ball down his throat and Darnold had a 103.8 rtg.  Last year we were decent in yards allowed, and horrible in everything else. Only reason? We kept giving up good field position.  He's had his choice of players to bring in since his scheme is so "complicated." Maybe he should stop trying to be so fancy like running Cover 4 on 3rd and 1 earlier and focus on fundamentals like tackling. These years of Eric Washington, Phil Snow, and Evero must have gotten you confused on what a real defense looked like. Go back and watch the McDermott and Wilks years- this dude is sofT.
    • I tried to make it a point in the opening post that I don't think the offense is a finished product. I think we still need more talent at WR, better play calling, catch more consistently, elimate ridiculous penalties,  and be more consistency in scoring points. I'm just saying, they look markedly better than last year imo. They have scored 20 or more in 6 games and 30 or more in 2 games. And that's particularly notable considering they only mustered 10 points and 3 points in first 2 games of this year and they got blanked on 0 points two games in a row to wrap up last season . I'd say that's a market improvement.  I'm not crowning them and saying we have a top 10 offense or anything.  I'm comparing them to themselves in recent history.
